ok n00b question here.. i got my MBC all hooked up fine (dejon tool.. sweet!) i'm just wondering what to do with the stock boost solenoid hoses.. i took the top one completely off (this is the one that was going to my intake pipe.. then capped that nipple on the pipe) .. the one on the bottom, that tees off and goes to both the wastegate and the turbo housing, is still there. i just bent it backwards and stuck it in the bracket that the top hose was at.. its still connected to the solenoid though. is this alright? can i leave it on there like that will it screw anything up?

The way you I've seen a waste gate checked is with it detached from the car, I do not know if you can do it with it on the car and be able to see it and what not, but what you test a wastegate isn't really to complicated, all you do is add a T to the line that goes to the waste gate and have one end going to your pressure source ie air compressor with an air chuck, then you apply pressure [and remember to watch your boost gauge to make sure you don't over boost, and the wastegate will open, and that's how you test the wastegate. another thing I thought of was, you did take out the line going to the wastegate solenoid when you installed your MBC right [you said "we unhooked the mbs" u pluged off the lines right, you probably did this but I'm just dubble checking]? On a side note the 2g BOV are notorious for boost leaks and should be replaced with a 1g crushed or uncrushed BOV when you can or various other BOV it doesn't have to be the 1g one (just remember to get one that is recirculated unless you have a GM MAF setup), I can't say for certain that is the cause of your problem one way or the other without testing it but I agree with toojung2die from everything I have read on it the 2g BOV just normally do not perform well at higher boost, and its apparent to tell this if you look at the cheap plastic design on the 2g BOV compared to the metal design on the 1g BOV.

alright thankyou, you were right toojungtodie it was my bov, i throw in my friends stock evo bov and now i can use my mbc, i set it at 17 psi but its bogging out or mis firing? i dont know whats wrong with it can you or somebody help me out? thanks again

17psi is high for the stock fuel system. I wouldn't set it any higher than 15psi until you get larger injectors and some way to tune them. The bogging could be fuel cut caused by the too high boost. It could also be caused by boost leaks. Make yourself a boost leak tester and get used to using it often, like every oil change. Every time my car stumbles and misfires under boost I know I'll find another boost leak.

i have looked at tons of diagrams on how to install a manual boost controller but none of them show my boost controller. does anyone have a diagram or know one that will show how to install mine? here is a picture of my exact boost controller.

So I just installed a b16g into my 2g and it was the first time for me. I bought a kit to help me install the turbo. I finished installing and did not hook up the wastegate correctly. Everytime my turbo would create boost my car shuttered and had fuel cut/ boost spike I think? Felt like my engine blew up. Can sombody send me a picture of how there vaccum lines are set up? I have been driving around for a week like this and have been trying to be careful not to destroy my engine does anyone know how bad it is for my engine at the current state?

i got a couple small questions... okay i have a Turbo XS standard MBC and i read all the stuff on how to hook it up but i have like two questions.

First is where is a good place to place the MBC itself? Like you get it all hooked up and everything but does anyone have a good place to anchor it to? I got mine off my cousin and there is this little bracket thingy but i just dont get wheres the best place to put it.

And the second question is in the picture i attached there is an electrical plug-in at the solenoid where the orange arrow is.... wtf? do i just leave that thing alone and go ahead and disconnect the hoses?

I zip tied the MBC to one of the upper radiator fan brackets. It kept the hoses short and the adjustment knob is easy to reach.

Leave the BCS solenoid cable connected. I capped the hose nipples after disconnecting the hoses.

Remember with the TurboXS MBC, the adjustment screw is "backwards" from normal MBC's. Just as odd, the way the hoses hook up is generally "backwards". The body of the TurboXS MBC should have an etched arrow showing the direction for the boost signal to travel.

I also have my MBC tied to the radiator bracket. I'll be relocating it this spring when I do an engine bay cleanup project.

Leave the BCS plugged in. On a 1g, you can unplug it. On a 2g, it causes a CEL to come on. The hoses you can disconnect, though. Remember for the MBC to take the pressure signal from as close to the compressor as you can: through a J-pipe nipple or a compressor nipple. Do NOT use the BOV line for your pressure signal.

i have an nxs manual boost controller and i can't figure out how to hook it up. so i need help asap!
