NEW VIDEO of my car 3/7/10

So Im thinking I have crankwalk because of the play with the pully. You can physically hear the crank or whatever hitting side to side. Is this something I can fix, or continue to find a whole new block? My TSi is a Nov 97 so I guess I have the revised thrust bearings, and was told by a wiseman, he highly doubts I CW'ed. Everyone chime in please. I was also told if I did CW, then my block is beyond repairable. Im just very confused.

NEW VIDEO 3/7/10. The Harmonic pulley was seperating, but I still have the crank movement. Its not alot and was told, that a little bit was normal. You can hear it still, but its not enough to where you can physically see the crank gear move. Suggest everyone!

^^^^ if you watch closely you can definately see the CPS plate shift back and forth. He may still get away with new bearings though.

After looking closely, yeah, it moves. And yeah, probably is out of spec but I'd still measure before getting too crazy.

Also, as for the 30k comments and CND vs USD.. over the last couple of years the Canadian dollar has been worth more than the US dollar more than once. Just sayin'!

Oh and I'm fairly sure even in Canada 7 bolts aren't 30k. But I bet a brand new 98 Tsi AWD was!

sorry son but thats how my car felt. Even though it may run great and idle fine, when you drive it, you have no power and its hard to get up to speed without alot of throttle.

yeah thats how mine is it sounds good and idle fine but it has no power when i get on it. it takes like 10 seconds to be going 50 from 0. and my car is a 99 automatic

yup sounds exactly like mine. I find it easier to just replace the whole engine .

My car feels like a dog until I get until boost a little, but once I'm at like 2-3psi it feels fine. Hmmm..

With the auto tranny I would have your TQ converter checked out while you have the engine out. Make sure Its not balooning out and putting excessive thrust load against the crank. Just a thought.
