That’s crazy how it came up thru the top hat like that, I’ll definitely keep an eye on mine LOL
Yeah it's pretty wild. I'm replacing all the wire with Tefzel which is supposed to be wicking resistant and then trying my best to not have any exposed solders ( trying to not have any solder joints at all only connectors) and then going to seal it up with some Raychem PTFE heat shrink and then that fancy goo to seal up the top hat.
I don't wanna have to do this again LOL

Got all the stuff in to finish wiring up the hanger. I did a little bit but other life stuff has kind of put it on the back burner.

All I was able to get done was routing the new tefzel 12ga wires through the tophat, resoldering the fuel level wire to the actual solder pad inside the level sender (this was super fun),
soldering the low level light onto the new level light wire that runs through the tophat and repining one connector on one of the fuel pumps. Here's what it looks like so far:

Got around to getting the rest of the connectors in and what not and sealed the wire passthrough with that fancy loctite stuff (works really great. Might even be the same stuff full blown used?)

I got the fuel pumps back in the car last night and they turn on but I'm not getting any fuel pressure.. I tried priming it a few times and then even hooked up my laptop to trigger the 2nd pump to see if that did anything to build pressure and nothing. They turn on but sounds like they're running dry.

I noticed in old pictures that I had the pumps sitting about 3/4" lower than they are now but when I visually inspect the pumps in the tank it looks like they are submerged. At least the socks are. Maybe the pumps are just barely above the fuel in the tank?
Gonna pull them again when I get home and see about throwing some new longer hoses on the pumps outlet and see if that does anything.

I know you got it figured out, but for reference if you're unsure of the pump depth.

Thanks I'll definitely keep this info handy. I was going to measure that out before cutting new hose but then got lazy and just copied my old hose length.

Forgot to mention as well, fixing the fuel hanger also fixed the fuel gauge so it's ready correctly again.

Took the car out tonight and about had a really bad oopsie.

Got fuel and there was a cruise happening downtown. Did a little 2-3 and got on the brakes and all of a sudden I was damn near sideways. No tire screech or anything just slid, about 1/4 way through 3rd (5500rpm), log shows 76mph? Let off the brakes and reeled it back into my lane. Bout shit myself.

I don't feel like I braked hard enough to lock the wheels up. My opinion is I caught a worn patch of the road but in the end I over drove the road.

Moral of the story is I've really got to start driving with my damn head and really respecting it. I plan on getting new tires. It was probably a bad idea to do pulls this early in the year but it was damn near 70° out today.

Stay safe out there friends.

This happened to me (nowhere near that speed though) going around a corner and I did get sideways. I cannot express how glad I am that nothing came of this with you though and only got a butt pucker from it.

Thank GOD BOTH of you guys are okay. In regards to these examples AND the Kyle Loftis crash I’m like . Cars and speed are cool and all but I have a FAMILY that’s more important.

Off topic, are there some sort of new picture file size limits in place? I can't seem to upload any pictures I've taken with my phone. Low res / low file size ~1mb seem to be fine but anything up around 2-5mb seem to just upload indefinitely and then fail.

Nothing's changed recently, but let me try and remember what the most recent complaint someone had - I'll see if it might be related.

I run a beta version of android but I have for years. I wonder if the most recent few I've had are goofy because even pictures I've taken from years ago won't upload.

I can "edit" the picture but not make any changes and re-save it and then I can upload. I'm sure it's something with my phone and the metadata or something like that.

But if I take the picture via snapchat and save it to my gallery and upload it, it's fine. So I'm assuming it's some sort of formatting with my camera.

It's just weird it doesn't like it from pictures from years ago too.

I'm wondering if an OS updated changed the files of the old photos somehow. That's the only thing that makes sense. Because I almost never remove file types from being allowed here.

They might have. The files are still jpg, I tried converting them to png also but no go.

Oh well. I'm sure it'll get fixed sometime for now I can just take pictures either in snapchat or just edit and re-save them

It seems to be an issue with pictures I've taken from my phone. Screenshots and stuff I've downloaded work fine regardless of size.

Soo it's a me thing LOL
I had the same problem a while back. I would have to email them to myself in a smaller size like it’s asks on iPhone before you send email, then Save those, then upload the smaller size. Was a complete PITA. Not sure what finally stopped making it kick them back for me.

Did I help you work through it? I know I’ve dealt with some issues on this in recent years but am forgetting. My old man brain is getting more useless every year.

Yes we went back and forth on it a few times. Not sure what ultimately ended up fixing it. My brain is not a spring chicken anymore either.

Havent driven the car for a little while because I've got a transmission leak and I think I've finally found it.

Looks like one of the transmission mid case > bell housing bolts stripped out. I dont remember this happening when I put it back together but it must have happened. Anyways now I get to helicoil it. I'm sure as hell not taking the transmission apart to do it soo wish me luck on doing it in the car LOL

I thought about helicoiling it from the backside of it was an open hole but of course it's not.
