1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX

I just bought this one with 74000 original miles. All stock, for now.

When you go to time it Mike, the 2 holes in the adjustment pulley, that I call "eyes", will go UP, in about the 12:30-1:00sh position for your 1g. On a 2g they will face down, just for knowledge.
Good job! :thumb:

I'm waiting on a couple things to come in the mail so I'm temporarily at a standstill on the engine. So I started on the front brakes and suspension. I'm rebuilding my rear calipers and rebuilding a set of 2g dual piston front calipers. I tore down 1 of the fronts and power washed all the gunk off. Hopefully this weekend I can media blast it and powder coat them. I believe the paint is close to my car color. I haven't tried it on anything yet. Also, I'm trying to decide if I want to powder coat the springs as they are Tein and the green really clashes with my colors and with the orange KYB struts that will be going on.

Why would one have a .50 caliber swab sitting around... :hmm: :hmm: :idontknow:ROFL:thumb:
Good job Mike!

Glad to be of service. They are handy. Get a junky old one from a used parts store or Pawn shop + a little time. :thumb:

The valve cover was a bit more in depth. I wanted black lettering so I just powder coated the lettering. Then a layer of single stage reflective and then the red for the final coat. There are a few small flaws but it's going to stay as is. I still have a bit of cleanup around the lettering from the tape residue from taping them off.

Powder coated the compressor over today. Turned out decent. I'm still trying to master this stuff.

As yall can see. The color is much brighter outside vs inside.

Like the valve cover, the base coat is single stage reflective then translucent red.

I don't think powder is that flexible. If it flakes, it will look horrible. I would be worried that the expansion and contraction would make the powder coat come off. Just a thought. What do the rest of you think? Will powder stick to a part like a spring? Most have a rubberized coating. :hmm:
