1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX

I just bought this one with 74000 original miles. All stock, for now.

Powder coated the fuel rail after work today. I'm just winging it with these colors really. I did not want anything crazy so I settled on Translucent red, black and zinc grey. I did do a base coat of reflective chrome on this before adding the grey.

Was replacing the front fenderwell brake lines this evening and put the brake line bracket on from the 2g caliper setup I bought. Had to take it off bc I remembered Marty's writeup on this afterwards. I have to cut the bracket tomorrow and put it on the new line.

That bracket cleaned up like new. Make it SHINE Mike :thumb:

Motor itself is pretty much ready to go back in the car. I've been trying to do whatever I can under the hood before putting it back in. Replaced the heater hoses, brake lines going to try and mount my fuelab filter in the stock location.

It's been a slow process bc I don't have a shop so at dark I'm done. My kids are just recently "grown", so lots of weekends i am traveling. Also, I'm NOT a mechanic. I follow directions well though. I read, watch videos and text Marty! I'm trying to not skip over anything while it's all apart. Like these bushings I'm replacing now.

After the bushings are in I'm going to clean the undercarriage and engine compartment really good then start with the flywheel, clutch and bell housing stuff.

I don't think powder is that flexible. If it flakes, it will look horrible. I would be worried that the expansion and contraction would make the powder coat come off. Just a thought. What do the rest of you think? Will powder stick to a part like a spring? Most have a rubberized coating. :hmm:

I've powdercoated springs before and they do just fine. The rear spring on my motorcycle was powdercoated about 9 years ago and it's holding up just fine.

Agree.... id do something neutral, like black/dark metallic gray....Youre already pushing the envelope with 3 different colors from the same side of the color wheel so it leans towards a bad idea to try to throw in yet another color.

The rear main seal housing fit into my ultrasonic cleaner barely. Came out looking new. Hopefully this clutch setup last for a little while. It has a 2300# pressure plate. This car may never go to a track. Just a daily driver. I cleaned the starter plate and the flywheel inspection cover with a bench grinder.
