Would you use recycled oil?

Valvoline going green. Anybody do research or give this oil a try yet? I dabbled a bit in google & it makes me :hmm:

Every car does burn some oil. Makes sense it is mainly the additive percentage of oil. Is recycled oil better for our cars or worse? Enlighten me with thoughts/opinions & facts.

If it started out as full synthetic oil then yes you can use it again. If engines were to never burn oil, never have fuel mixed with it, and have a pcv system that would prevent sludge, you would never have to change a full synthetic oil and just change the filter every few thousand miles. You would probably have to put some additive every year or so.

I'd use it in my Jeep.
But it's the 4.0 I6, I'm pretty sure you can just slab some vaseline in there and it'll keep on going.

100% with gofer. Don't mess around with the oil in a turbocharged car.

I feel bad enough running my new turbo from the cylinder head oil pressure access point.

I can't see it being the best for a turbo... My Cobalt can have that recycled stuff all day long though. LOL

I wouldn't hesitate to put it in a DD, but for the boosted stuff i'll stick with diesel or race oil.

I wouldn't even use it in a dd, if I am going to spend my money on oil im getting "new" oil. I just dont see the point in spending money on recycled when you can get new oil for roughly the same price.

I agree that oil is just oil when it's concerning a non-performance machine, but when you throw power adders into the equation and questionable driving methods, I'd rather be safe than sorry on this one.

It all has to meet the same specs. If anything, I would think they would go above and beyond since they know it will be scrutinized. I personally would have no problem using it.

I would use it anywhere I feel comfortable using non-synthetic oil (ie DD), but not in a high performance application where I want very high purity synthetic. If they can distill useful oil from the raw crap that comes out of the ground, I don't think they will have any trouble redistilling it.

One thing to keep in mind guys - it's not like they run it through a strainer and give it back to you. If still has to pass of the the same quality and performance tests as any other oil. As Defiant would say, it's just oil. No need to look too far into it.

Defiant would be wrong. The oil is low in phosphorus which is horrible on our engines. Heck, it's not good in any engine but in high performance applications the problem is magnified.

Used turbo Yes, used condom maybe, used oil NEVER! at least not in my eclipse, would you feed used baby food to your child? maybe that next door neighbours kids which are little fckkers anyways, but never my own love child.. altho i dont have any kids LOL
