So My clutch was slipping a few weeks ago, and now I'm in the market for a nice performance clutch. I don't mind spending the money as long as it lasts a very long time and is rated for use up to 500hp (not quite there yet but one that can take the power once its there). Anyone have a clutch they really like that has lasted a long time for them?

agreed with the guy above -- a twin plate set up will last a while and the pressure plate wont make the clutch petal heavy like the act2600 PP makes it

have a friend whose got one in his evo and he loves it -- drives almost like the stock clutch that was in the car and can hold his 550hsp without any issues whatsoever

but there expensive

Yeah I don't mind spending the money as long as its not too muich more than $900. I see that the exedy is going for $1400 which is a little more than I wanted to spend. My application is going to range from 390-450hp. The clutch that was mentioned above is nice, just making sure thought, I can't run 400hp yet, but it will be in the near future, so should this clutch be effective @ 200hp? The clutch would see 180-200hp for a few months, then 390+hp over the summer. Just want to make sure it can retain its DD reliability.

The double plate is a stage 4 from exedy, and I was looking @ the stage 3, ita a hyper single plate (but still forged aluminum so the clutch should be light because its not like the heavy steel plates). Anyone heard of this clutch/ thinks it would be good to support a maximum of 390-450hp while lasting a long time and reliable

Also, I was looking at the Exedy website, and when I put in Eclipse, it only came up with Stage 1 and Stage 2 kits available, any ideas?

Is the Fidanza reliable? I have heard stories about them lasting 10-20k miles :barf:. Anyways, I looked further into Exedy, and it doesn't even seem they make clutches for the NT transmission. They make them strictly for the 4G63 Eclipses :( I will look further into the Fidanza but really like the idea of the Exedy Forged aluminum plate (don't like heavy clutch, but I can deal with it as long as it lasts a long time and can operate from 180-450hp

Well Right now your only making about 140whp at the most unless you've all of a sudden spent money on cams a full exhaust a full intake injectors throttle body port polish your not making 200whp on a 420a all motor. Sorry to be a jerk but all your threads have started off with ridiculous number's or arguing about spending money on the body of your car. Trust me I'm only 18 but I've spent almost as much money on my car as most of the older guy's on this website. Your probably going to bite back when you see this but the most I've seen made with a turboed 420a is 660whp. But if you insist go with exedy stage 2 on ebay. I've tried looking for you just for the heck of being bored and I cant find alot of options for your car with drivetrain. Mostly do to the fact that not alot of people go off spending money on a 420a and the ones that do normally end up 4g63 orrized.

I have a small turbo set-up ready for the car (TB2569 turbo). So once that's on I will be looking at around 180-200hp and since my clutch is already slipping now, I figure I mine as well get one that will be fine for my future upgrades. Always follow the 6 P's: Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. With the right clutch , it's one less thing to worry about down the road. I'm not looking to make this a track car, the plan is for it to retain its daily drive-ability while pushing anywhere from 390-450hp.

its not the block I'm looking for though LOL, right now looking for the performance clutch :)

The only thing with the ACT that I see is it says 96-99 eclipse, but I'm pretty sure its the same for the 1995, but I would rather be 100% sure before I went and ordered it. Also, I looked at some specs and people only run 10-15psi on the ACT set-up. Does anyone have one that runs more? I'm looking to run 20-26psi in the future
