Which turbo will be sufficient for consistent 11 second times? I've recently decided on a big 16g, but will that be big enough to run 11s with supporting mods and decent tuning? Remember, this is for a budget street car, so any one purchase over $1k is tough. A big 16g will run about $700-900, which is about $300-400 less than the larger alternatives.

Of course, I'll need lots of practice to run these times, but, I just want to make sure that it's possible before the money is spent.

Hey whats up Everyone .... MERRY XMASS.... Ok so I have a Q for you guys I looked around and didnt see anything on this .. Ok DO YOU HAVE TO RUN THE COOLENT LINES FOR THE TURBO DOES IT REALLY NEED IT I CAN UNDERSTAND THE OIL BUT DOES IT REALLY NEED THE WATER TO..??? cause i saw a pic and this kid has his water holes caped and just the oil running...to and from for the turbo... so i was wondering will it kill the turbo??? this is prob a dumb Q but I needed to know as you can tell my a newbie...but Im trying to learn as much as I can k thanks guys.. Happy Hoildays Everyone.... !!!!

ok, all mods in profile are current. obviously with fwd im limited to choices with wheel spin, looking at FP's new 18g, 20g, and 50trims. just wanted advice on the best choice, goal for the car is around 350-400hp, DD until end of summer.
thanks in advace guys!

:talon:

I would go with a larger turbo. Smallest being a 50trim. The 16g hits real hard and fast and will just give you wheel spin. A larger turbo will give you a little lag and wont be as aggressive at low rpms.

Before you replace the turbo, you need to
1.replace timeing belt
2.compression test the engine
3.make sure you fix every leak
4.get all supporting mods
5. then you can get a bigger turbo.

I would recommend a walboro 255lph, aeromotive fpr, 660 cc injectors, fmic, lower sway bars, 1G bov, boost gauge, dsmlink, and maybe a manifold if you have extra funds.

nope. If you use a walboro 190, you can get away with the stock regulator. However, fuel pressure is key to tuning.

Look at my modlist. Granted I'm only using a 14b, but Im hoping for 300whp.

For 300hp a walbro 190 fuel pump and 550cc injectors would be more than enough paired up with an evo3 16g. Don't forget to use some tuning device like an safc.

is 300 hundred a bad goal like right now it not stock i got it from my friend dad cause the owner move far away it has bov and a hard piping for the intake i dont know how much hp it has now i just think 300 is go cause it also my city car so i dont want to kill my gas also. if i can go high then that and keep 20/gall then i will do it
