Where are the FWDs at????

your 60' is really bad, 2.741, on Road tyres you should be able to get 2.3-2.4 on drag radials you should be able to get that down to 2.0-2.2 an on slicks as low as 1.5's Get it down to 2.4 and you will see low 14's.

Are you spinning or bogging off the line?
What tyres are you running?
What tyre pressure?

Thanks for the input guys.
I slip the clutch, dump the clutch... NO help at all. Still doing consist 2.6-2.7 60 foot.
My tires are not spinning at all off the line no matter how high the launch 2.5k, 3k, 4k 4.5k rpms.
I'm running bf goodrich all season tires, also I had on firestone firehawk also. It made no difference in my 60 foot.
I can't remember the tire pressure but it's pretty low. I'm guessing 25psi and once at 34 psi. But don't quote me on this, I'm not to certain at the time.
So you can imagine all my honda friends with gsr swaps thinking of me. And their n/a doing low 15's to mid 14's with intake header and exhaust. So you can imagine how I feel, a car with turbo.

Ive always ran an awd tran in my fwd. With running the awd trans tho you need to run at least a 26" slick because of the gear ratio difference. Im actually for once gonna throw in a 90 turbo fwd trans with 24.5" slicks. For some reason though I feel I wont get the traction I need with the fwd trans and smaller slick. But maybe cause im so used to running 26x8.5s.

One thing to remember about running the awd trans is that you have more options on clutches. Like I was running a Qm twin disc a few months ago. Some guys are running awd flywheels but they have to modify some stuff to make it work.

Or you can just throw an auto in that thing!

That has crossed my mind. But I can't have all my cars auto. I'm honna stick with the 5 speed on this car. As soon as I max out this 6262 I plan on shooting for the 14b record. The cars a tad lighter than joe b's car and I have almost the identical setup he had when running 10.8. Figured might as well not go crazy with everything. Best bet is to start where he left off since it worked for him. At least with this big setup I'm really having to fine tune the suspension to get every tenth out of the launch.

Those are almost like the weld draglites. I had 15x7 rota slips. Quite a few years back I ran 15x8 draglites. I took them off because the center of the wheel is very thick and my studs wernt long enough. I've installed 1/2rh X 3.5" studs and now gonna run 15x9 welds. They stick out a lil but look beefy.

Here's the latest for my FWD..

On stock 195/60 tires.

17psi.

exospeed makes really nice alumium drag wheels, 15x8, 15x9, 15x10 with a option of 3-6 in back spacing... rims cost about 410-460 each..you get what you pay for though ;)

Gotta be pretty dedicated to spend that kind of money on a fwd.

Obviously from the wheels I posted I don't want to spend over $800 on just two wheels that I may use a total of 5 times in one year if that. If I didn't have 15's I would just use stock GST wheels.

It seems low offset 15in wheels are hard to come by. Unless they're made to fit a Jeep Cherokee or something. Then the offset is too low.

Other then the usual specific drag wheels like the welds, all I seem to be finding are wheels in Honda offsets in that size.

Well a sad day yesterday down at the track. I managed to get both cars down the gst and new gvr4. Ran them both the gst in sport compact and the gvr4 in street class. Was having fun managed to pull 14.8@90 w/ a 2.0' in the gvr4 which is bone stock mines a few free mods. But the gst finally after 15 years and 240,000 miles let a rod go. I made about 7 runs in it all low 12's and then bam. I'll post more later and some pics of the carnage.

Wow 240,000 miles?!? That's awesome LOL. It was bound to happen sooner or later, though. Were you logging at the time? I'm assuming stock rod bolts...?

ITS ALIVE.... IT"S ALIVE..... And now back to storage it goes in 2 months.

Can't figure out my clutch issue but i'm gonna replace the master as it has a bit of a leak and slave is stock. So i'm thinking i'm getting air in my lines from those 2. But who knows.

let me know what you think about her cold idle.

ran mine thursday. Got a 9.6490 @ 74.90mph 1/8th mile on worn out 225/35/17s. Basically stock besides cams and 14b running wastegate pressure(mbc messing up) trying to stay out of fuel cut(untuned).

Bummer seems like it was running good.. you gonna fix it? And we need some pics

Ya bro it was runnin really good and yes already started my next motor. But I might change my plan and go a different route. So far I have a 30 over block matched to a set of venolia race coat pistons and crower rods. I plan to get the crank micro polished and matched to a set of acl race bearings. Also sending all my part to Brian at terhune race works to get cryo treated. I just got to the mainland (Chicago) to visit with my family. I'll have pics and more details in my journal when I get back and better details into what really went wrong. One cool update my best pass in my gvr4 for the weekend was 14.53@92 with a 1.9 60'. Not bad for all stock with some crappy dry rotted tires. I'm looking forward to running the car more since my gst is down till the motor build is done.

Took my FWD out this past weekend hoping to go deeper into the 13's or possibly break into the 12's. Previous best was a 13.4 so I figured I had a bit of work to get into the 12's.

Second trip down the track netted me a 12.5 :) Then put down a 12.7 and 12.6 after that and called it a day (due to potential engine issues).

I figured it was going to take more effort to get that deep into the 12's, so the next goal is now push the FWD with small 16g into the 11's :D

nice time ,I'm hoping to get to mid 12s but need more seat time and need put my hoosiers dot to use
