Where are the FWDs at????

I am wondering what turbo he is running.

He said a couple pages back that it is a BEP S372R turbo with 1.25 twin scroll.

Calm down guys, i'm not saying there no chance its not spinning whereas i did pedal but i can assure you car makes a ton of power at 17-18 psi. Im no rookie with these cars, though this is my first FWD. I am hoping to at least test 1/8th mile friday so we will see what its doing. If i were to guess im in the mid 500hp range at the current boost setting of approx 17- 18 psi and is still have at least 20 psi to go if i can turn it up past the 1/8th. I was just simply posting what my logs were saying. I'll let the car do the talking when the time comes. Its a heavy pig weighing more than it did stock so nopefully itll stay together.

Can't wait to see what it runs!

Im pretty anxious myself. I have to think the 11:1 CR has a lot to do with it and possibly the loose converter helps wind it up but even with the 1.25 a/r i can lift and floor it and the boost is instant. I cannot explain how violent it comes into boost. Bear with me, i hope to report back some valuable info guys. I just hope i dont blow through the converter when i stay in it due to its looseness.

I will hopefully have time this Friday to switch everything over to tuners on my build thread. I have made a build thread in my hometown forum but have been to lazy to switch it over to tuners. So I might finally get it up this Friday. Damn that is alot of pictures to switch over and writing LOL.

Went to the track last night and made 5 passes but not one full blown pass. First pass off the trailer 11.9@ 122, 2nd 11.7@118, 3rd pass 10.999@131, 4th and 5th were 11.11@ 120. I am only at 17-24 psi and lifted 3 to 4 times on every pass. I was trying to get the car to lean out each pass whereas the AFR's were 10.3 in boost however I was being cautious since my ID1000's are maxed out so I never got it leaned out. I really cannot complain about a 10.99@131 basically turned all the way down but was hoping to get it leaned out and get a low 10 on 24 psi. I am ordering ID2000's and am going to strap it down and turn it up. Oh, my best 60 ft was a 1.77 and every other was 1.9x. I still have a lot to work on but it's getting there.

Weighed the car and it was 3006 lbs with me in it. I have only removed the a/c.

All right, finally got out to the 1/4 mile track! I ended up taking my new 1g Talon (didn't want to beat on my DD Laser).

The best I could get was a 15.6 e/t @ 91mph (I got up to 92mph, but the e/t was a little higher). Pretty bad compared to some of you guys. I gotta start somewhere though! :)

The car had some no name knock-off summer tires down to 25psi and a worn ebay 16g set to 10psi. The track was a little damp from the rain and coupled with fwd plus my inexperience, launching was not easy.
I'm also at 5800 feet in elevation, so that doesn't help either LOL

I plan on redoing the turbo setup and getting a better handle with ECMlink, so this was more of a benchmark.

My 60 ft times were consistent 2.5 sec. I'd launch around 3k revs and do my best to feather it out of 1st. It seems really hard to find that sweet spot and launch with minimal wheel spin all while trying to be lightning fast.

I've gone back through this thread's previous posts and found a lot of good tips, but is there something else to gettting a decent launch that I might be missing?

I hit 11.3 with my fully built 4g63, precision 5857 .60 trim, and slicks. Yea it's definitely hard to catch traction with the fwd's but for us guys, we like the challenge. :thumb:

I ran at the 1/8th last weekend. Was on about 16-17psi and my afrs were bad for some reason about 10:1 I must have been leaking a ton of air havn't put a BLT on it yet but it ran a [email protected] with a best mph of 87.8 running out of gear about 20-30ft before the end and a best of 2.2 60' on crappy 195/60 tires LOL:sneaky: I just let it spin all the way down.:|

what changes did you made? i notice you dropped the pressure on your tires.

Changed the spring rates all round, 1000lbs rear, 600lbs front
tyre pressure should still be the same at 7psi, thats what Ive always run.
Started pulling ignition out to get the power down in 1st, more less power I had the faster I went, pulled about 80bhp out, dropped the 60' by almost 1 tenth.

I wanted to ask. What twin disc setups are you guys running? Also why?

well my fwder is almost done. hoping to see some 12's atleast and go from there.

Well I managed to run a bit faster on Saturday. Pulled a few 12.4 passes the best being [email protected]. Im stoked to be this deep into the 12's with my setup, I would really love to somehow get those 3 10ths and hit 11's just to say I did it with a small 16g and fwd. :) The 16g was flowing 37lb/min @ 19psi with around 19-20* timing up top.

You had the black TSi, right? The worst part about your times was track condition. Even with them prepping the track every 10 minutes, it was still pretty wet. Other than that just seat time and maybe lower the tire pressure more. I ran a 15.5 the week before, got some serious seat time in, and ran a 14.3 my first run out that night with very minor changes to the car. So I'd find a nice stretch of empty road (shouldn't be hard here in CO) and just mess around with tire pressure, launch control RPM's, and how quick/slow you let up the clutch. With your setup, there is no reason you shouldn't make it into the 14's.

Yep, black TSi was me. The one that was unmanned and in the way for a little while :ohdamn: (I had to help my dad with his Supra).

I forgot about that wet drizzle. It definiely made for some slick conditions. I just couldn't shake that 2.5 sec 60 ft.
So yeah seat time is definitely a must :) I see now that finding that sweet spot with fwd and whatever setup you're running is a lot of trial and error.

Hope you get that tranny situation covered. That would have me upset.

Anyone got any tips or advice to help me shave 3 10ths off my e.t. I really love to hit 11's with my setup and I'm so stinkin close LOL. I've looked at most of the awd guys who hit 11's with the small 16g and most of there 60' are right around where my good ones have been. Anyway any help would be great, we have one more two day race in sept and then the tracks getting closed for repaving and upgrades. :)
