Where are the FWDs at????

Agreed. 2600 or comparable. And a set of slicks. I went 13.8 in a 90 FWD Laser with only a MBC at 14.5psi, a set of M/T 24.5X15X8 slicks with aluminum wheels and 140lb of weight reduction...and on the stock clutch at 145k miles with the clutch starting to slip.

Hey got a question for you guys. Given my current setup and I'm putting in the quaife LSD this week hopefully what clutch would you recommend. I figured while I'm in there might as well replace. I was looking at an act 2100 with street disc or 2600 but would that be over kill. Also looking at the spec kits maybe stage 2. Thanks any input would be great. I'll be back t the track next weekend hopefully dipping into the 13's, Ive been tuning her more and seems like I got it tuned for 20.5 psi boost that should help.

I've had my ACT 2100 with a street disk since 2005 and it's still going strong. However I agree the 2600 will give you more room in the future.

I'm in the same boat as you still. I've got my 850's and v3 tuned on SD and my little 14b is pushing out 23 lbs and falling to 16 at the redline. Up from stock injectors, stock ECU, and stock boost when I ran my 14.3 @ 101. Just need to go to the track. It will be soon!

Well the new engine is in (957bhp, 750lb-ft) and new front bumper is on, almost time to let it loose on the track, only a couple of weeks to wait :)

Thanks for the advice guys. I plan to buy Hoosier qtp's for my 16" wheels very soon. I have my funds tied up in the talon I just bought. I have alot of parts to sell just getting everything cleaned up and out of the car. I am stocked to have scored the quaife LSD I'm deffinetly keeping that for myself LOL. I'm going to try running with my hankook's again next weekend. These are hands down the stickiest tires I've had on my car. Plans for the talon are putting my other motor in and then probably sell it. I may just keep it and maybe teach the wife how to drive it LOL.

That bumper and exhaust really transforms the look for the car! I'm digging it!

I think it makes for a lot of drag with that front bumper. A LOT of surface area up front. Kind of looks like a weird looking Supra from the front.

A lot of FWD drag cars are like that, I believe it's to keep the air from going under the car. A few examples:

That intake manifold is going to choke you on the topend. Let me know when your heading to the track I will come down.

My cars is being changed around, the next race isnt till October 10th. Im going to swap in some Moran Racing 2500cc injectors, 3 gallon fuel cell and aeromotive a1000 pump (time for E85). More weight reduction and going to rewire the whole car. And Im putting my good head back in the car, But now has 1mm valves and 5 angle job.

I'll deff. let you know Matt!

As far as choking out up top im sure it will, i just dont have the funds right now to pull the trigger on a JMF etc.......:(

I'm looking at getting a set of slicks for the front of my DSM. I'm spinning like crazy and can't get traction to save my life. I read that you can fit a set of 13" rims over the 1g FWD brakes. Does/has anyone run 13x8" rims and if so what brand are they and what is backspacing? Did you use a spacer? I'm wanting a set of 24.5-8-13 slicks.

Here is my last pass at the track, I ran a 14.8 @ 104 MPH on my 14b and I couldn't even put the pedal on the floor until third gear. I've got the power, just can't get it to stick.

Yes, 13" wheels will fit. I have 15" wheels personally. I think the backspacing on mine is 4.5" (not sure the mm, just google it and look for the backspacing on an 8" wide wheel. Same size tire...24.5x15.8. Overhang was about an inch. I liked it.

Good thing about the 13" setup is going to be the weight. The wheel is lighter and I believe the tires are lighter too. Can't go wrong there...if you can find a good set of 13" rims for cheap. That's why I just went with the 15s.

New look on my junk

^^^42r???

Nice ride. Do you have skinnies for the rear? Looks like normal street tires on the back. Could cut down on a little more drag with the skinnies. Never know when that extra hundredth or thousandth might help get a win. ;)

Thank you . it is a "small gt42" and those are skinnies on the rear, however the car is more stable with normal size tires on the back compared to the skinnies
