Thanks fatt6903 for posting the video of my car here. This is my first time posting here I have been waiting for the right moment to post in here but why not post now. My name is Alex I am from Orlando, Florida, I own a 1991 Eagle Talon Fwd I have been working in my car for three years now. I currently have installed in my car a EvoIII 16G turbo with a best of 11.18@125mph 1/4 mile time with a best of 126.52mph with the 16g Turbo

What boost are you running for this?

On February 2010 I ran 11.4@125mph with a completely stock motor, stock head and cams with just bolt ons with the 16g at 26,27 psi. I did a head swap recently with a 5 angle valvejob, SS 1mm oversized valves, with Kiggly Racing valvesprings, FP2x cams and upgraded to dsmlink V3 with the Gm Maft cable. I went to the track with the new head a couple weeks ago and ran 11.18@125mph with a best of 126.52mph. That night I was having issues with the tuning and boost controller I decided to run the car open wastegate and the boost was at 35psi after 6500rpm it would start dropping to 28,27psi and since I didn't have a rollcage they told I could'nt run anymore that night but I was very close in hitting the 10s that night and if I could of fix all the knocking that I was having the car would of run 130+mph. The car got the rollcage done recently and I also switch to E85 so I should be at the track again soon to hit the 10s with the 16g Turbo.

I want to thanks my sponsors for their great product and making this happen, Thomas Dorris at ECMTuning, Inc., Kiggly Racing - kigglyracing.com, and www.CentralFloridaTurbo.com .

Ya I had read up on corner balancing and was thinking of doing it in the future. I just need to get some scales to do it.

Also on the sway bar thing, I read in one of "turboglenn's" threads that he modified his front sway bar to help with weight distribution. He must have done something similar to that article, thanks for posting it.

I suppose an enterprising individual could find the way bar dog bone end link at the junkyard and find the right taps for it and use a setup like this

I dunno how much better it's gonna get, but it would be cheap enough to play around with.

I'll keep everyone updated when I go back to the track in a few weeks.

Well I went back with my rear suspension raised higher and stiffer than probably any aftermarket shock can do, also had the dual-stage boost controller working. 15psi on low (lowest it will go) and I played around with the high setting and ended up around 24psi.

I got a new best 60' but only by a few hundredths, new best et with a 13.3. So with the suspension mods and the dual stage boost controller I only gained .1 in the 1/4. I did however dial in my car more and by the end of the night was consistently trapping 114s. There was also hardly anyone there and I ran 15 times so I got a lot of launch practice in and tried a lot of different techniques and launch rpms to see what worked the best. I'll be on full e85 before this weekend is over and once I get some new tires I'm going to head back to the track and see if I can do any better.

I'm going to get the tires I mentioned in this post and see what I can do. Also does anyone know if we can run a 235 tire on stock wheels?

TD06/06H 20G if you can find a good used one.

The 06/06H turbine wheel provides a little more linear torque curve that FWD's favor. The 20G with a TD05H turbine will hit much like an Evo III 16G, which is fun as hell in an AWD but is quickly played out in a FWD.
This is a quote from Justin on another thread. He mentions that a TD06 20G would favor FWD's because of the slower spool up and higher top end power, therefore helping out with traction. I trust his opinion when it comes to turbos. What are y'alls views on this? Do you think this would give us more power AND more traction over a EIII 16G?

Most definitely. I wanted a tdo6h 20g but ended up settling for a bastard 20g, or "sleeper 16g". It's just a 16g with a 20g compressor wheel. I was also thinking about clipping the turbine wheel to slow spool a little and help top-end flow, but I don't really need it for my goals (12s on street tires) so I'll probably never try that out on this car.

I'm trying to decide on what clutch to run in my fwd with 500whp+
I have a nicely setup trans with a quaife. Need to figure this out before i get the new motor finished.

Whatever you get I'd go with an un-sprung disc. If you don't want a puck disc ACT recently came out with an un-sprung street disc.

Going back to the TD06 20G for slower spool up. With this set up we would need more top end power since the boost comes on later, which means cams. What would need to be done to the head in order to run Comp 272's and how high would that allow you to rev? I have a feeling you can't just drop in 272's and rev to 8 grand. Springs?

I run EVO valvesprings and BC 272s and rev to 8K. I've been on this setup for alittle over a year. I only rev to 8K at the track though on the street I usually rev to 7-7.5K.

Took my car to the track last night. MH 24.5x8.5x15 slicks...Ran 11.39 @ 128 with a 1.88 60ft.

This was on a stock fwd trans, open diff, and stock axles.

Ended up breaking what we think was a shift fork, but ill find out soon when I take the trans apart.

Very nice, giving me some hope... I am almost done with the Talon and hope to run at least a few times before the end of the season.

Where in Missouri are you from?

Where in Missouri are you from?

I live in Springfield...Our track is in Rogersville. Ive thought of bringing the car to STL for midnight madness, but thats a long drive just to run the car at a different track.

Hi Guys,
I thought I would drop you guys details on my FWD DSM....

Its a Mitsubishi FTO (The Worlds Fastest Mitsubishi FTO)

PB: [email protected] mph 60':1.714.

You must be logged in to view this image or video.

Your car should be running a hell of a lot faster than 11.0 with that mph and 60ft.

Yeah, but my gearbox won't handle quick gear changes it just crunches if I change too quick.

First time to the track today, it ran a 9.7 and 9.3 in the 1/8th. Which I didnt think was to bad for being at stock boost, still having the stock clutch and 180k on the stock 6bolt. Granted I have a few supporting mods but im not utilizing them yet. With a Quaife, ACT 2600, dsmlink and some drag radials it should be well into the 8s.

13.4 @ 129mph. 28-29psi. Approx 600whp. Spun 1st and 2nd real bad...spun a little 3rd..ran through it and trapped 129..M&H drag radials 235/60/15. Track couldnt hold the power. Car picked up 44mph from the 1/8 to 1/4. Waiting on electronic soldenoid to do boost by gear with ECMlink. Might retry with slicks soon or pickup a friends awd shell. Not sure if I want to play with this FWD any longer.

This is why I'm parting out my car, next season when I have an awd it probably won't have as much hp as my fwd does right now, but it will still run better times.

Im on a basic suspension setup, but i have it setup up right, open diff stock trans, first time on slicks launched a 1.88 60ft and went on to run 11.39 @ 128 in my near full interior 2g.

People dont run good times cause they dont want to pay. Buy a set of M&H slicks and let her eat.

Im running my car later this month, I just added a LSD to the car and im gonna drop the tire pressure in the slicks, Ill be upset if I dont pull a 1.6 60ft and go high 10s.

Fwd is a ####ing blast and honestly, I dont think I will switch to awd ever in the future....Ill build a colt before I build a awd dsm....

So you're telling me that with slicks and suspension you got the same 60' as a stock awd car can get? Also what are you going to do on the street? Drive around on your slicks all the time?

I gave it a lot of thought. I know that fwd's can run fast times (kiggly), but for all the money I'd be putting into an lsd, axles, suspension, wheels and slicks (~2k), I could part my car out and buy a really nice awd vehicle. Hell you can buy a stock awd 1g for under 2k.

It's just not my bag baby :)

First time Ive ever ran a car on slicks I pulled that 60 ft......On the street, I dont like to race....More to lose than gain....

The car will be back at the track in two weeks, My 60ft will get better....
