Where are the FWDs at????

Damn this thread gets me soo motivated.

I'm down right now, putting together a bottom end but while i was down i got a couple parts. (EVO injectors, 255 wally, aeromotive afpr, safc II, datalogger, greddy type r (have the adaptor and i can make it fit), hallman pro, 14b tuned at 18psi)

Last run before the motor went:
r/t - .385
60' - 2.296
330 - 6.127
1/8 - 9.227
1/8 MPH - 79.98
1000 - 11.849
1/4 - 14.083
1/4 MPH - 97.37

I'm eager to get running again and see what she can do now.

FWD FTW :dsm:

Good stuff man. Thats a pretty good 60' too. I'll cut 2.3's all day, though I did have a few 2.2's today and one 2.1 as well. I need new tires though, as these crappy ass all season street tires are almost bald now. :\

I shaved a full second off my times (15.5 to 14.5) by putting on a 14b and upping the boost by about 2PSI. Great lil turbo till you get a 16g or bigger! :thumb:

what are some of the faster fwd guys running there drag radio tire pressures at? This is my first fwd so I am trying to pick up some tips, and for any one wondering I am runing green dot retread drag radios.

^^ Nice Aaron. I wonder if some vendor offers tougher internals for those of us who are really pushing the smaller snails.

I am pretty sure if you call FP they could whip up something. I'm just going to run the boost lower. Forcing a 14B to make and hold 25psi probably puts the shaft speeds a bit out of it's operating range. ;) There's probably not much to be gained much above 22 pounds or so on this turbo anyway, so we'll back it off, and see what happens to the MPH.

I agree with the 16-18lbs with drag radials. I believe mine were at 18lbs when I ran my best time in the fwd.

any idea how to figures ones mph change from a tire change, for instance, im running 23.0in diameter slicks, and i trapped 106mph, any way to tell what my mph might be if i was running a 24.5in slick?

i figure somewhere around 2-4mph higher trap with the 24.5in slick instead ( sound about right?)

i really liked the gearing advantage i got from running the smaller slicks , good 1/8mile times, suffers barely in back half

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html That is the tire calculator that I have been known to use.

Hey the 420A-T guys are catching up to you guys. Awddynamite ran an 11.09. I am also going to try and whoop up, good luck getting those times.

whats my best bet with tire pressure on the 23.0in slicks, should i run the most pressure i can get away with as long as its still hooking and not getting and hop?

last time out i had them aired to 15psi they were gripping,
it was really hot out so they were good and sticky after the burnout, next few runs i aired them up to 20psi and they still hooked, i could only leave the hole on the 4k 2-step (my highest setting at the time builds around 6 psi) it bogged slightly (2.0 60fts)

now ive got 4500 up to 5000, and a few anti lag 2steps as well, outta leave the hole really good now. so the air pressure might be more of a factor now, im building about 15psi for 5k anti lag.

My GST has been sitting in the garage for almost 2 years know WTF, I'm going to get a motor back in this thing and hit the track this summer. Living in Palm Beach, FL Moroso is in my back yard so no excuses :D Hoping for some good times to post:thumb:

i might be going this wed, i usually prefer orlando its just alittle farther of a drive for me, usually moroso there are too many crashes due to the fact the track is built on a swamp the track gets moist cars loose control crash , 2hr delays, only get 2 runs the whole night u get the picture...... i just have bad luck when i go barely get any runs in

Im actually working on my GST (blown motor, have it sitting in my garage for over a year) Just bought myself a nice 6-bolt, and a FP Green with all the goodies is going in preety soon, Ill be happy with low 12s, lets see if I can get her running right :D

To the 11.6 14b guy, amazing man! just amazing, Keep up the good work.

I forgot to update this thread.

I ran 9.505 at 142.82 on a 1.397 60' last friday during a shakedown pass. This was at only 31psi and way down on power for this boost compared to where it will be soon. More to come in a couple weeks.

Kevin

9.397 at 145.69mph on a 1.483 60ft yesterday. 35psi and not running clean or launching hard.

Hit the track for the first time last night, hoping for 14s. What can I say, it's realistic. :D 225/45-17 Street tires, full tank-o-gas, open diff, no prep (slow car night, what you gonna do) 3075 ASL, temps about 95º dropping to a luxurious 85º at near midnight. Pretty optimum.

First pass ever was 15.7 @ 98MPH. Had the 2step at 4000 and asked a couple people how the prep was to hear, "I dunno, I'm awd. Or, My slicks hook great!" Great. Left it at that and spun madly at the line. Hello smokey 2.9 sec. 60s.

Next pass, dropped the launch to 3250 and cut a 2.5 60. Ran a 14.7 @ 99.81. Damn it, where's my 100MPH sticker!? ROFL. Guess 60 fts are pretty important.

Ran a couple more. 15.1, 14.99, hit 99.5 MPH. Bought a $3 bag of ice and threw it on the intake manifold and went for some junk food.

Getting late, almost midnight, temps a bit cooler. One last pass.
Cut a 2.5 and ran a 14.606 @ 100.23MPH. I was happy.

Back in two weeks with the meth kit.

I'm hooked..

on 30lbs I went a 12.3 at 130 spinning like hell on slicks. the car made 615 on 34 lbs looking forward to going down the track on 34 lbs real soon. I also had a huge problem with the slicks rubbing my fenders honestly cost me from 3-5mph on the 12.3 pass.
