This is probably a dumb question, but what is the part called that holds the front suspension in place and bolts up to the knuckle in a 1g? Does anyone know where i can find this part? :hmm:

not sure on the solenoid part, but if you have a vacuum leak at the cap, seal it off. why rerout something if you dont know what it is, but you do know a cap is leaking there, so it is safe to seal where the cap it

That cap is a vent cover to keep debris out of the solenoid. When it closes if it weren't there than it would keep pressure built in the fpr line, it is just there to bleed out the pressure when the solenoid closes.

Interesting. I remember a while backvwondering what the cap was for. I haven't had those solenoid for years though.

there we go... so i was wrong, i admit it :D thankfully there are more experienced techs here on this stuff... im new to the eclipse/ talon scene, so im still learning

i just lifted my car do do an oil change and saw that at the bottom of my intake there is a nipple without a hose, also the nipple in the wastegate doesn't have a hose on it, are they supposed to hooked up together? i would post some pics but im at work right now...i have the turbo that comes stock on the 1g, 14g i believe...thanks

1 : If there is an open nipple on your intake pipe, that is going to cause you to run a tad bti leaner than usual as your MAF/ECU can't account for the extra air being pulled in there.

2 : If the nipple from your wastegate is left along and you are not running an external gated system.. this means that your wastegate is never going to open and you will boost until you hit fuel cut or blow your engine apart. there needs to be a hose ran from your intake manifold to your wastegate nipple to resolve this.

3 : Stock turbo for a 1G is called a 14b. ;) Close enough, though.

Yes stock turbo on a 1g is a 14b. Those nipples should be hooked up to your boost control solenoid. If it was diconnected then you will keep building boost like stated above. You should have a vacuum diagram on a sticker under the hood that will show you how to reconnect the hoses. Hope that helps. Read, http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...ost-control-wastegates-how-turn-up-boost.html to get some help to understand better.

is there a link or something of the boost control solenoid b/c i cant find it and don't know what it looks like ..yea if you lift up the intake at the bottom theres a nipple w/o any hose and idk where i hook it up to...yea i meant 14b LOL sorry i guess i was trying to type fast:ohdamn:...sorry about this dumb q's, still kind of new to turbos

If your boost control solenoid is not present, you can simply cap the nipple on your intake pipe which is open and run a hose to your intake manifold from the nipple on your wastegate and be perfectly fine. The solenoid is usually located on the chassis under the MAF sensor, however. It should have 2 nipples on it.

I wouldn't recommend it. I am one of those "Your BOV line should be separate" type of guys. I would T it into another line, any other, besides that one.

In all honestly, the J pipe which is bolted to the top of your Turbo and directs boost to your sidemount should have a nipple on it. You can run a hose from that nipple to your wastegate.

Don't T anything leave the line running from you BOV to the intake manifold alone. If there is no boost control selenoid just put a nipple in the intake pipe. And for the wastegate just run a hose from the j-pipe to the wastegate that way you will be running on stock wastegate pressure.
