This is probably a dumb question, but what is the part called that holds the front suspension in place and bolts up to the knuckle in a 1g? Does anyone know where i can find this part? :hmm:

Alright at the end of my automatic crank is a insert for centering up the torque converter. i guess its an auto's version of a pilot bearing, but i cant get it out of my crank and i need to put it on my new engine.

where can i buy one? what is it called? i checked with the online OEM Mitsu parts and its not in any of the exploded view diagrams.
I wish I had All Data. :rocks:

You can just remove it too if you haven't beat it up too bad, heres how I took mine out when I converted to a M/T. A/T spacer removal

:dsm:

the part the spring sits on(in the rear). its not holding anymore and its sliding all the way down the strut along with the spring. so the car is leaning big time to the back rear and the fender is about 3 inches over the tire.

if the shock is still good....this happened to me when i hit a pot hole and i just welded that piece with a small wire feed welder set to the lowest is could go and it worked for a month until i had the money to buy all four

sorry for this....do i have to buy a whole new strut? i see that there are grooves on the strut to keep this "part" from sliding down. im not finding anything but whole struts

Yeah dude, it's a lousy shock absorber. When they get old, or rusty, or 60,000 miles on them, or just outright break and cause your car to drag on the ground... You generally throw them out and buy new ones.

You wouldn't weld a broken brake pad would you?

Same as factory $49 each.

Buy them and be safe.

not trying to weld anything....i just want the spring seat i guess its called

thats what i was asking , looking at autozone it shows the strut without the seat on it

i was trying to avoid buying a whole new strut for cost reasons, but clearly u cant just buy the seat....sucks

its not the seat that mest up its the groove that worn out..the autozone ones dont have the seat neither the kyb gr-2 all you have to do if you buy them is take off the spring hit the seat with a rubber mallet to take it off and put it on the new strut....but hey i WOULDNT weld a brake pad of course but om this case the shock isnt something that important as brake pads you can use a car with bad struts..plus i didnt have one cent at the moment i wasnt going to park the car just because of the shock groove went out its not like if the seat was going to drop again and the car was gonna flip or crash LOL

yea man... did you get stuck on something... or did you try to javk up the car from there... and yes that could be the cause of your wheel getting wasted... and maybe alignment

that looks like for a 1g gst? I'll look it up give me a while to pull it up and tell you. I have a GSX so I dont know off hand
