This is probably a dumb question, but what is the part called that holds the front suspension in place and bolts up to the knuckle in a 1g? Does anyone know where i can find this part? :hmm:

Hey, i'm back again.
So some of you might know, i have been stripping the inside of the 2g and i have found more loose wires! yai:boring:
The trunk.

this is part of the harness in the trunk, that connects to the rear lights, but i don't see what is may connect to.

this is another wire that's a part of the same harness with no end to connect.

about the antenna wire idk, my antenna works fine with out this wire, and this wire is is one the passenger side, were as the antenna is on the driver side.

the spade wire does look alot like a defroster yes but its in the trunk, if you were to raise the hatch it would disconnect or ripe, assuming that's were it goes.

and for the tail light harness . yes that is exactly right, it is a tail light harness but all my lights work. And this plug doesn't connect to anything else.

all very logical assumptions, but thats not it.

Last one, you’re correct again. The "reserve connector for CD auto changer" is a 6-pin connector and only utilizes the first three pins (pin 1 – blue; pin 2 – black; pin 3 – red w/ black)

That's your original response to the plug. What did this originally do?
Oh and thanks alot you two. One down!

Update, I stopped by the local junk yard, and all 5 2g dsm from rs to gsx have those 3 exact plugs/wires disconnected and just wrapped up and tucked. So this leads me to conclude, that I still have no efing idea what they do.ROFL

The wiring I pointed out last time was for a CD changer. If there was never a CD changer in place, it would have simply been taped up and put out of the way.

The single-pin connector you have pictured is for a luggage compartment light switch for vehicles without a theft-alarm system. If the vehicle did have a security system, this is an open connection.

The 8-pin round connector is a D.I.N cable. There is supposed to be one running to the CD changer. The only other place I see one is running between the radio and the amplifier.

the first pic under the throttle is the ISC or Idle Speed Control. your seems to be damaged and disconnected so you idle is probably all out of wack.

The second pic is for the emmisions system its supposed to be connected to charcoal cannister which on the 97 GSX is right where that pic is taken and the 99 GSX is behind the front bumper on the drivers side. Not sure wher its located on the 98 gst which is sad since I have one.

It's built into the fuel tank on the later model FWD 2Gs. See: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/445831-99-gst-evap-removal.html#post153081042 and http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drivetrain-tech/247093-awd-conversion-swap-guys-enter-here-advanced-merged-2-07-a-8.html#post152540416.

Posted this in another thread, didn't get any replies, was hoping someone could tell me what this is and where it needs to be connected too.

Have a boost leak and came across this laying down on the floor of the engine bay, its a bad pic but it looks like a EGR value or something, has two small vacuum lines and lead up to near the throttle body and then a larger tube connected to the bottom of it and just goes towards the front of the car. This is located on the passenger side under the TB intake.

That is the purge control valve, not the charcoal canister. Unless your air intake pipe is not original (and it looks like it is, based on your second picture), it should have a nipple on the firewall side for that hose to slip over, like Dxc545 said.

This thread is awesome just wanna say thanks to all those taking there time to answer questions, haven't posted b4 but glad to know all it takes is a pic for those hard to describe unknown things

Can someone tell me what this is? It was just hanging there all taped up inside the passenger side door. Im assuming it has something to do with why my power locks don't work.

Theres probably no reason to get new ones, it doesnt look broken. The reason it was probably removed is that you possibly have a frozen lock cylinder.

Ok, just a question. What if it doesn't stay on? Should i try a zip tie or something?
