lots of progress since june. i took the car back to AZ Speed Center in Phoenix, and continued the game plan. i have been working on the car during my off time, and dropping more and more cash into it. this car has really came along! i scored on some brembo's, and my front set of EDM knuckles are on the way from the UK!

relocated the fuse panel harness a little, gonna put the custom coolant overflow in its place.

performed a cut and tuck on the engine bay harness. this was a "90% of the way completed-my back is killing me this is enough for tonight" pic of the cut.

got the turbo setup together finally as well... MHI Evo III 16G with an FP manifold, FP 7cm hotside, FP 18psi wastegate actuator (thanks again gofer) punishment open dump o2 housing, all the goodies in between them!

hmm lets see what else... i can probably spend an entire day on a list of mods! im trying my hardest to make this car clean. this will be the only dsm i do this to. since the harness was installed completely, and engine has been dropped, i am waiting on my fan shroud to be customized to fit my huge SPAL fan (Arizona summers with AC wont be a problem), and just more progress to get it fired up. the last thing i did to it was get the dash installed and pretty much all hooked up.

got the glove box in, gauge cluster, and pretty much everything else. i ran out of time and the shop closed up before i could get anything else done. good thing is that the progress has been going strong, and the support from AZSC has been more than i could ask for. we are doing this right the first time!

i bought a fan shroud from lazyboy, and i am having it plasma cut to fit the 2200cfm fan, and a flex a lite fan for the other. so, the modification and fitment is being performed at AZ Speed Center in Phoenix.

got the initial timing turn done, all is good so far. break in should start very soon heres more pics!

I finished the paint job on the brakes, and they came out pretty darn good. i still need to decide on what pads and rotors i am going to use, so i will wait until after the holidays to get them situated (i am half tempted to use the duralast auto zone pads and rotors just to get these beautiful brakes on the car... its WAY cheaper).

thanks, its a JMfab brake cap. i think i got it from MAP or extremepsi... not sure. this has been almost a 3 year process... but i am happy with it. i got a lot of exclusive stuff on this car!

That red anodized ETS fmic is a thing of beauty, and that black with red and black engine accents looks very clean.

I’m in the process of shaving my engine bay, welding up all unnecessary holes, wire tuck ect, it’s a pretty big job and there is always something needing to get done. After seeing your bay I may go the same route with the black and red

thanks for the positive feedback, and you are right, it is a very big job and freaking time consuming. i had a mobile soda blast company come and make one hell of a mess to get the engine bay as clean as possible. that was just the beginning haha. i can get some more detailed pics, but i did relocate my fuse panel and trimmed that harness a little. good thing is that it really doesnt need to be cleaned up too much. the engine bay harness is a whole different story. we replaced every connector and pins, and a lot of wires. i cut the harness down, removed the emmisions stuff, but kept a lot of other things. i still have the schematics and notes, so let me know if you want some help!

yea it has been a pain in the butt... and honestly ive already scratched the paint in about 7 different spots l0l. ill have it get touched up as soon as its finished with the break in, also getting its first cut & buff!

No problem, wish I would of had a mobile blaster come out and blast mine , it took the better part of three days to sand down the bay with three people on it. Had to use a die grinder with sanding rolls to get into the tight areas. Yeah, wiring is one of those things that just takes time, I actually had to replace all four injector connectors-cas connector and the water temp connector. Got them from a place called ohm racing in case any one wondering.

navy aviation here, you will have a good time. i guess on that note, my harness was flawless, zero issues! every pin was seated correctly, every wire had good continuity, it was a first time up deal, so im sure if a salty ol sailor could figure it out, you have a good chance with your clean room tools and such! haha, of course you were going to be given a hard time... brother!

i think you will be good with an 89 pin connector, ground shielding to firewall. and while you are at it, pm me if you happen to have any extras laying around in your consumables bin.

a little more update, i drove the car on wednesday! wasnt far, but hey the clutch is bled and transmission goes into gear, and moves on its own suck squeeze bang blow! check out my instagram for some videos and updates. ill try to get some more pics in here as well.

thank you. she got her first full tank of gas in over 5 years today! the break in idle is complete, now gotta chase the leaks, squeaks, and re learn how to drive that close to the ground (been driving a lifted pickup for the past 5 years as a daily driver) im so sick of that darn truck. its nice and all, but man its a pain in the butt driving in the city.

WE ARE ONE COUPLER AWAY!

im using the 1g N/A throttle body, which is a 2.75' opening, we hacked my throttle body flange off my elbow, welded a 2.75" end on it, and special ordered 2.75" coupler... but a 2.50>2.75 coupler came in the mail

2 day special order for the correct coupler on the way.

everything else is complete!

well i finally brought her home for the first time since the restoration began. ive got about 300 miles on her in the first 2 days of being on the road. it was easy. no wastegate pressure, set at 4k with 4lbs of boost. funny thing is, at 3k that turbo already wants to hit full spool... picking up around 14lbs. the brand new CC 3.5 clutch and fidanza 8lb flywheel need some seasoning, shes a little rough from a dead stop, but im sure i just need to get used to it a little more, and worked on. we havent touched the suspension yet. its still on its old 20 year old stuff. past 65mph, steering is a tad shaky. nothing out of control, just not perfect (yet). the rear window tint is well past its days. there is zero visibility out of the back. im gonna get it all taken off and run without it until it starts to warm up here in az... so like for a month ill be tint free. i was having problems with the doors, which i would also like to ask, does anyone have good working door locks, or are all of the lock switches (conntected to the back side of the door cylinder) just too old and brittle? it would be nice to have the doors in perfect working condition, as well as my sun roof. the motor is bad im assuming, since i am getting power up there. the window tracks are correct as well.
