6 of the 7 bolts that hold the top of the 1GB Talon bumper are in place.

Nor sure if I'll let my OCD bother me enough to finish fabbing a mount for the 7th hole or just leave it.

Not a huge accomplishment, but an accomplishment nonetheless.

I finished installing the exhaust (3" turbo-back) on my car about a week ago but I hadn't had a chance to take it for a test drive until yesterday. I forgot how much just an exhaust wakes these cars up! My car is stock besides the exhaust and the restrictor removed from the boost control solenoid. So much more fun to drive now.

Clutch is on, now onto the transmission!

Many many things!!! Including my own 2G dsm for a very very long time!

More 1g rebuilt parts... Stainless fuel / brake line holders.
Cross shafts

Made a new tool for the bakance shaft pullys.

Work on the cylinder head is nearly done, had to make custom spring seats to avoid using shims. So once spec'd up machined them to suit and match each unit. Now its all perfect, onto the final clean up and then i can assemble it all fully and ready to go once needed!

Got a Carbonetics 2G spoiler extension delivered today. It's like a gurney flap, which I always wanted for a 2G. Might do an install review since there's very little about this peice on the forums.

Wish I had your knowledge, I could buy the tools
I dont know everything. I still suck at alot of things in life trust me LOL.

The cylinder head is down the road and its using their equipment as i dont own all of these fancy tools (not for a one off anyway) eventually i would all these tools but not yet.

They do alot of engines from BMW's to chevys for the Ultima's and Ferrari also plus many more. They are great guys and i sometimes have lunch with them. Done some jobs for them also, handy chaps to be local with so getting the cylinder head done worked out well and they are very specific in their work which is nice. Everythings logged and measured and thats why we ended up making new spring seats across the head. Those were made from Chromoly 4340 incase anyone wants to know but eventually i will have this all on my build thread with more pics of it all

As for the other parts, I learn as i go and draw parts up and spend many hours doing these projects. Making tweeks along the way, its fun and it means i have another (product) thats able to go to the community if needed. As small at they sometimes are they might all be worth it

Unfortunately I spoke a bit too soon, thinking I did good replacing the starter plate with a freshie. It apparently was the wrong plate, and I was committing the same mistakes to try and fit it. Thankfully I had the correct plate and was able to get my neighbors assist once more! Starter now fits and we can drop this poweplant into the car!

Talon restoration update time!

Things are starting to go back on the chassis!!! YAY. Currently I have most of the rear end on but not done up yet as i wanted to get its all on and in place before I torque them all up, the only parts done to spec is the diff to subframe. And frame to chassis.

I must say its looking amazing and all the hard work is showing when coming together. Its nice to see the chassis looking super fresh and clean again.

On the diff and transfer case the alloy parts were painted a nice silver. This was to protect the bare alloy from later corrosion again and will be very nice to look at in the future. Plus its nice and bright.

Also note some pics of the rear subframe bushes that look weird??? This is because its a new product I developed for this chassis since nothing is made for them anymore. So what we agreed on was a hybrid setup, keeping the stock oem rubber but adding more support and these are a TPU insert and I used stainless for the support for load spreading. If you noticed on a 1g the plates have gaps and this allows it to flex and pivot but these supports will help limit this a d transmit more to the driveline vs loss through the flexing of the stock rubber.
Just another way to tighten up the rear end.

Next weekend I shall be working more on the front and if all goes well POSSIBLY have it on the ground but only if it goes to plan of course... Shall see how i get on. Stay tuned for the next update.

Installed new a/c belt, alternator belt, and power steering belt. Also, after the engine install, I've been double and triple checking everything. I finally found the component that this "mystery electrical plug" plugs into. You guys know the one I'm referring to, top of the a/c compressor.

Now, to fix the leak from the turbo oil supply line. Time to hit the forums for the correct crush washer size.

So after the new PB last weekend, it was still running fine but felt off, the log showed the car hit 41 psi coolant pressure and after looking over the car, the oil turned to a milkshake. I was thinking head gasket but unfortunately not. Block is toast after 9 years of abuse, can't be mad at that. I've already started prepping to transfer everything over to a new block. She'll be ready for Ohio.

Cleaned my grounds and looked for potential electrical issues, came to the realization that I will have to rewire the whole car at some point in the near future, the cables are old, it was giving me an issue with starting the car.
