removed my leaky apexi downpipe, went to replace with a brand new punishment downpipe. Well the downpipe was too short and even if it was the right length, the flange was cocked to the wrong angle and wouldnt match up with my apexi exhaust. so out came the sawzaw and we hacked the flange off with about 4'' of pipe and welded it to the punishment downpipe at the right angle, it fits perfect. looks kinda ghetto because there are 2 flanges, but w/e its under the car. then i relized i put a 3'' gasket from where the o2 meets the downpipe and the downpipe is a full 3" so there is a leak where the o2 meets the downpipe where the bolt holes are. I need a 2.5 gasket i guess. So i decided to freshen up my tune and try some more aggressive timing maps, well after a hour or so my clutch started acting very ####ing weird, and im prtty sure my slave cylinder has shit the bed. It wont go into gear at all when its running, tried adjusting the master rod, no avail, the clutch feels...like easy to push in, easier then normal. much cussing and now i have to figure that out when i have some time. if its not one thing its another.

different lengths and differnt flange angles.

Thanks guys.

Custom manifold. Was intended for my old 40R, never swapped to this manifold before changing plans. Added a half inch flange to let the HX52 clear the block. 1.75" runners, divided, equal length. Tapped forEGT and Drive pressure.

Hoping it will accommodate a Borg S400sx 80mm down the road!

So trying to develop a rough itinerary of sorts.. This is mainly for my mental organization I suppose.

This week will involve:

  1. Re-assembling intake/exhaust
  2. Making the Oil Feed Line/Filter/Pressure sensor assembly
  3. Connecting/checking all other fluid, mechanical and electrical connections
  4. Swapping in the new EGT gauge
  5. Re-assembly of the interior
  6. Rounding the corners off and painting the mounting plate for the overhead kill-switch
  7. Re-assembly of most of the exterior
  8. Forming the nose mask/airdam and intercooler ducting
  9. Ordering fluids and oil filter

Next week, depending on how badly I get slammed by other work this week..

  1. Finishing nose mask/ducting
  2. Finishing exterior assembly minus the two trim pieces in my garage
  3. Adding fluids (engine oil / coolant / trans / clutch / rad / brakes / fuel / anol)
  4. Installing battery (may need charge?)
  5. Testing Electrical systems
  6. Testing fluid pumps and checking for leaks
  7. Install ECU

Then presumably final checks, hook up the laptop and test fire?

After test fire is done, and the bigger injectors are swapped in for base tune.. time to wire wheel rust patches off the underbody, spray paint the spots before we finally bag/tape the parts of the undercarriage and coating with rhino liner material. Then let the detailer do his thing.

Photoshoot? LOL

At which point it is time to schedule the dyno!

So potentially another 2-4 weeks and she'll be on the rollers by this estimate.

Well finally got around to sending my ECU to Tom and Dave over at ECMTuning. After all these years my caps finally decided to leak. Hopefully this solves what was troubling my Talon since I have not done any mods or changed anything to my setup.

About to start filing legal papers against the shop that is "fixing" my talon. Been sitting in their lot for the last 6 months and still isnt done despite me settling my bill on 2/2/13. Shit is going to get ugly if my car isnt done by friday.

@mjcanada your car is getting there man! Looks great so far!

Fixed the rear windshield and replaced the shifter knob. With the stock shifter knob on a short throw it tends to go into 1st instead of 3rd LOL but now with a ball end one, works perfect.!!

fixed exhaust, gained another boost leak.. I need to find better clamps.... :(

put it on the trailer and brought it home the other day....

Friday night, decided to go out for friends b day. Stupid lights died (dimmer switch) I hope for an easy fix. Got pulled over two blocks away from home by city police. Let me go with a warning for dead tail lights.

Pulled my 7 bolt with a leaky headgasket and getting ready to drop in my 6 bolt while the 7 gets torn apart for a forged bottom end eventually.
