Timing belt oem brand

I'f Im planning on having someone/a company change my timing belt should I just buy a new tensioner, idler, and tensioner pulley? since im not really sure what the miles on my motor are plus they've been out in the open(winter, summer, fall, spring) for 2 years WITHOUT a timing cover. Also noticed that the timing belts that partsdinosaur supplies say " packaged by PCI belts made in USA or UK by GATES!

Are GMB products ok as far as the idler pulley, and tensioner pulley? I would go OEM with the tensioner

I would replace everything while your in there. Do you still have your balance shafts? Buy all oem if you can, if not at least get a oem auto tensioner like you said(the aftermarket pulleys and belt(s) will be ok to use). And defiantly pick up a timing cover, there real expensive new, but maybe you can find a used one in good condition. Good luck.

while your in there replace everything including the water pump for peace of mind. then you wont have to do that if it leaks

Parts dinosaur is an excellent choice, absolutely every bit as good as OEM. Most people like to bow down at the temple of OEM, but the parts Bruce sells are every bit as good with many, many people running them with no problems whatsoever. 1/2 the price as OEM too I took the money I saved and bought a purple belt.

I wouldn't use any pulley that didn't come from a bearing manufacturer such as NSK or NTN etc. Mitsubishi doesn't make their own bearings, they are supplied. Reputable brands from auto parts stores are typically these brand (same as oem) but I have had cheap pulleys fail with brand names I did not recognize. Pulleys provided by gates etc have looked identical to OEM on every one I've used. Aftermarket units from the likes of rockauto etc from suppliers I haven't heard of did not match OEM and I saw one fail hard first hand with thankfully no bad results but it could have easily been disastrous. This was at very low miles also and this wasn't my first timing belt. I lost count more than a decade ago. Take this for what it's worth. Gates or OEM aren't expensive.

I got my stuff at the Mitsu dealership, but the pump from NAPA-being a GMB.

Just stay with reputable brands and you should be good. Stay away from any that don't tell exactly what brand you are buying or its origin.
The way I look at it is if they want to sell something they would use anything positive about the product to present to the customers to make the sale. Why would they not exploit a brand name or the country it was made in unless they are ashamed of them and would look negative to the customer?

Research who and were things are made. I don't trust countries that knowingly send us kids toys with lead paint on it. I won't buy anything from them unless I have no choice. Then I may choose a company that at least is USA based.

I lost respect for parts dinosaur when I learned they knowledgably sell non-grooved stub shafts.
