There are pics and info involving the dump tube problem towards the bottom of the page. The issue directly below was resolved by Tim at Punishment Racing. Thanks for looking.

I just installed my punishment racing o2 housing with external dump. Everything was going great until it came time for me to install the tial 38mm gate and dump tube. The way the gate is oriented it smacks into the alternator before it sits flat on the o2 housing flange. I also noticed the alternator seems to be almost all the way out in it's adjustment which shows in the pics. Take a look and let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

The new turbosmart 38mm gate is an inch smaller in height and width. The dumb thing is, that o2 housing was designed with the tial 38mm gate in mind. If the flange was turned toward the radiator a little more I wouldn't have any issues.

Is a 1g alternator that much smaller? Does it output the same amperage?

Any other ideas?

It looks like we accidentally shipped you the VR4 version like we had discussed on the phone. Ship it back and I will make sure you get the proper o2 housing and refund you the shipping costs. Sorry about the mixup.

I like how Tim always takes care of his customers. Customer service is something that is lacking in the DSM community, and "he" (Punishment Racing) brings it to the table.

Tim took care of the o2 housing issue. It fits great now. I now have a dump pipe issue. It dumps directly on to my intercooler pipe. To the point where I can't install my lower pipe cause it hits the dump tube first.

It doesn't move. Its very sturdy. It will only change shape if you apply some decent force to it. You can go to the autoparts store and open up the box to play with it before you buy it, plus its cheap as hell. I am about to use two of them on a dual wastegate setup I'm making. I just try to make the dumptube long enough fit the flexible tube on, and long enough to where I can put the flex tube away from dumping on anything.

I went a bought the flex you talked about. I think I might use it as more of a template for building something else. I also didn't cut enough off of the existing pipe, so I'm just barely clearing the intercooler pipe.

+1 for good customer service.

+1 On this.

I called them a month ago or so to order a FMIC, and it got delivered to my door with no problems.

Not to thread jack or anything. But I've been tempted on ordering their 02 Housing-External Waste Gate Recirculated. Problem is I don't see how it'd fit with a Saturn Alternator down there.

Here's some mock up pics of what I'm going with.

Work progression to final product. Not the most amazing welding ever, but something im proud of for my first tubular fabrication. My friend did the welding for me(hes a beginner too).
