Punishment Racing Tial 38mm MVS Wastegate Install

Damn. The boost creep has to be from the way you have to wastegate setup then, if its off the o2 housing you need to port the flapper hole on the hotside of the turbo some more. If its off the exhaust manifold it needs to be off of the #1 runner or at the collector.

:dsm:

hello i have a similar situation with boost creep on an external 38mm mv-s. i have mine install directly to my mbc. bottom of my mbc goes straight to the turbine compressor housing and the other side straight to the wastegate. i have a creep issue as well. should i be T-ing it somewhere?

I have a ported and clipped 20g turbo from buscherand i can't seem to find the exhaust elbo that also has the attachment for the external wastegate... this thread seems verry usefull for helping me plumb it, but finding one to purchase first is quite the delima for me.

please any links or help would be greatly appriciated

would it mess the flow up if i used a block off plate and mounted the wastegate on the manifold?

I want to dump to the atmosphere.

I'll have to ask twentyfivepsi on here since i baught it from him. in the classifieds

i was told that it's in a mhi housing

Here is my experience with brand new tial MV-R. Pressure test about 25psi to lower port of WG revealed air leaks at the banjo bolt air fitting and a conjunction of valve guide with aluminum portion of WG. Tial confirmed that air fittings are deffective and the air leak at the valve guide is not normal. Also, an internal leak through valve guide appeared to me too strong. I sent my brand new WG to tial for repairs. Those of you that have issues with boost control, pressure test WG with some soapy water.

Update: tial repaired my MV-R and sent me a good set of air fittings. Turn around time was super fast, many thanks to tial!!! The root cause of an exterior leak at the valve guide was caused by a valve not set properly on a spring cup. With these leaks eliminated, I should have a better chance expecting boost to match the springs rate.

I have an issue with the valve seat ring not sitting flush so I can't get the vband around the o2 and the mvs. Any ideas?

I've had 1 hks and 4 tial wastegates. 2 of the tials had problems that had to be sent to tial to resolve. That's not a great rate. I have an mvr right now and it is my last tial. I hear great things about turbosmart and they are significantly smaller than equivalent tial which is awesome. The hks are way too expensive for the vband models. I e always avoided pte and turbo netics because of their reputation, but the tials seem just as bad.
