I've just bought a TD05 EvoIII turbo for my 2g GST when I bought it I did not notice that it was not for a 4g63 . it was for a wrx so what can I do change the exaust side. is the only thing I can think of . but where to get one ? or should I just sell it and get a new turbo ? I dont know to much about the turbo . but heres the Info maybe sombody can help me out . its from EMUSA type: DSM-EVOIII part NO: TD05 HW will post pics....

If it uses a TD05 turbine wheel, then you can just get a new hotside for the turbo. A TD05 6cm or a 7cm would work fine, but with an EVO3 turbo you would want to opt for the 7cm housing.

I know the subaru compressor covers are different, they have an outlet and no need for j-pipes or compressor outlet parts. You are probably going to need to either DIY style of intercooler piping.

As far as the wastegate actuator, IDK if the subaru one can bolt up with the DSM housing. I am sure with a little ingenuity you can get the actuator to work.

edit: Is it a knock off turbo, according to the way Jus responded it seems to be, at this point I would just scrap it if its not a IHI turbo.

Ouch! That's wrong in a lot of ways. The hot side is crazy wrong. If your running the internal gate, that compressor housing isn't going to work either, unless you find some crazy way to mount the actuator. On top of all that, it's a Chinese/eBay turbo. Get a genuine mhi turbo used off the classifieds section and you'll be much happier and spend less money in the long run. Hope that helps.

Yea that sounds like a Plan to me. just sucks just paid $250 for it I got ripped but I guess you live and learn

It wouldn't be that hard to make work if it was real..But it is a china/ebay POS turbo that won't last very long at all..The turbo doesn't even look new at all, it looks used..So I hate to tell you you got ripped off twice on this deal, one with the ebay POS turbo, and second with a used ebay POS turbo..

I have also heard that 16g's are great upgrades for wrx's..I'm not a wrx guy but that's what I have heard from one..

Wow.

- Not a DSM bolt-on turbine housing.

- Downfiring compressor cover with no wastegate actuator provision visible.

- That doesn't even look CLOSE to an Evo III 16G compressor wheel. The Chinese aren't even trying anymore. The hub area of that compressor is so large that it will murder the compressor efficiency....I'll bet my next paycheck this thing will barely outflow a 14B but spools over 1000rpms later.

- You spent $250 on a USED Chinese knockoff that doesn't fit your car. Were you not aware you could buy a brand new shitty turbo that would bolt right up for around $200?

LOL well thanks LOL but yea well if im going to get a nice turbo what should I go with its going to be a DD

Well almost any turbo as you know can be made to work..

But it would also be a super headache to make work with no actuator, turbine housing, and downfiring compressor cover..So all in all you might have more in the turbo alone to make it work that the turbo is worth...Scratch that..You will because the turbo is a paperweight..

Ship it to me with a stick of dynomite and I will make good use of this turbo..

There are plenty of deals in the classified adds for 14b's, 16g's cheap cheap cheap..With a little modification will fit and work just great..

But what will be a good turbo to run on my car send me a link
We're not here to spoon-feed you modifications for your car. Do your research like the majority of us, find out what works and how to identify garbage turbos so you don't end up in this situation again. If you need assistance, post back....but we're not going to hand you links to mods- might as well give you the answer key to the SAT's. That will surely guarantee this thread ends up in the Graveyard for lack of searching.

Not to mention the fact it needs to say "turbocharger" on it. Like it doesn't know what it is. :ohdamn::tease:

ok no prob . yea I will look in to it . sounds good thanks

ok well what is the stock turbo? is it a 14b

Looks like Someone is in a bad mood today...You need one of these memory foam mattress toppers I just got..
Oh look, Bud's responding to another Graveyard-bound thread. Who would have thought?

The Chinese do that so they know what box to put it in. Imagine if your new knockoff turbo arrives and you open it to find a birdhouse inside. LOL

Does the birdhouse say "turbocharger" on the side? LOL ROFL
Wow....like what if it did? LOL

What if you received a birdhouse with "Turbocharger" printed on the side, then attempted to send it back....would the seller literally argue that what you bought is indeed a turbocharger? That would be a shitty day on eBay. ROFL

What me, really..Nah that hasn't happened a thousand times before.

I can't find a smilie I want..so I'm gonna go with this :mrt:
