EvoIII 16G

I have a small 16G right now. How much better is the EvoIII 16G than the small 16G?

My mods : Injen Intake, Apexi N1 Catback, MBC, Boost Guage, Walbro 190 fuel pump, Apexi SAFC2, 1st gen bov.

With these mods can I expect alot better performance from the EvoIII turbo? Thanks.

a small 16G flows 505cfm and since a EVO 16G flows more than a B16G (550cfm) i say an EVO 16G flows about 575cfm. You will notice a difference but i think if you want more power go to a 20G or a 50 Trim.

Dont waste your money on a 20g please. I'm gonna get so flamed for saying that but you can get a SCM50 that will spool up full boost at 3700rpm if not sooner and make 400awhp for $800. Or you can spend over 1k on a 20g and reach full boost at 4200 or so but ofcourse you can make like 500awhp with that but I dont think you really want that much HP considering your first upgarde was a small 16g. I'm not knocking your choice please dont think that I'm just saying if you wanted 500whp you would have started with somthing a bit bigger in the first place but I'm not you. But he is right sell the 16g for $350 and upgrade baby.

Well IMO you cant even get the most out of your small 16g with the stock SMIC. You should really be looking at getting a FMIC before you look at bigger turbos. You would be suprised at how much power your small 16G could make. Trust me I have one. In the future the 20G or 60 trim will be great but you'll need injectors, & EGT to use it...Your alot like me. I was hoping to spend around 500-600 on a new turbo. In the end I want a 50trim but I'm not sure what the supporting mods are.

Really? 275??? I thought FMIC's were alot more expensive. Maybe I'll stick with the small 16g for now. How do you like yours? I have an S-AFC2 right now but plan on getting RC 550's.

Well you can run a 16g @ 16 psi all day on just a 190 or 255 fuel pump...The stock maps will handle it fine. However you need the FMIC so you don't get knock from heat soaking the smic. Your SAFC can be used to lean out the lower rpms in HI Thr. But I suggest around -10 till 4K then fatten it back up to 0 at 7K. Lo Thr I run - 5 across the board. But every DSM is different and I wouldn't lean anything out till you get the FMIC. On race gas 104 or greater you can run as hi as 18 psi...But get to a Dyno with a wideband O2 sensor ASAP.

My entire FMIC project cost me $400.00.

2 1/2- Exaust piping (5 Feet)- $20.00
2 1/2 big rig radiator hose (3 Feet)- $40.00
Misc Clamps- $10.00
Flaring of all piping(@ local muffler shop) $20.00

Yeah, get injectors and a bigger IC before you upgrade your turbo. You can probably get 15-25BHP if you turn the boost up a few pounds.

Yes I would highly recomend a nice FMIC street core from eather BR or Victory performance before upgrading that S16G. They go for about 1200 for everything you will need and will support over 400 HP when you get that 50 trim you will be all set all you will need is bigger injectors. That S16g can handle up to 20 psi with a front mount so adding the front mount will give you more performance

FMIC, datlogger, injectors. Not necessarily in that order, but you need the logger before you get the injectors.

If you have larger injectors and a FMIC, you can probably run 18-20 psi on pump gas with a pretty decent tune.
