I put the C7 brakes on the Grand Am today. I just had to get some shorter caliper bolts, a couple ~qtr inch thick washers, and drill out the hole on the spindle slightly. It was a direct fit. The brake line was a direct fit. Pictures don't do justice, they look amazing. Another check in the W column for this car. Now I really want to do the rear brakes.

I figured factory the ECU is targeting rich like ours does so there was some room to mix it in. Always wanted to try it out on a stock car of this era to see if it would work - and it does. I just wish I could physically adjust for a couple more * timing up top to see a true benefit of doing it. I thought of physically modifying the sensor to clock it, but never pursued past the thought.

I do see HPTuners supports this car which is seriously amazing and maybe a good opportunity for me to learn a new language aside of dsmlink.
I just didn't think the fuel injection system was equipped to handle anything more than 10-15% ethanol content in terms of pump/line/injectors without eating itself. Huh.

Did you find that car locally in Michigan? Looks like its in phenomenal condition for an old car in the cold North.

Picked up a 2006 Subaru Forester 2.5XT from the junkyard used cars section. They supposedly inspected everything except for the engine/transmission internals. Couple useless emissions CEL's, but everything else looked good. Drove it off the lot and the rear strut collapsed and chewed up the rear tire. It drove good when it drove. Putting new rear struts on this weekend. :)

Heh, it was like 10 houses away from me. I saw it on CL and was like man that thing is mint. Then I realized it was walking distance away so I went to check it out. Thing doesn't even have a stone chip on it, I couldn't believe what I was looking at. Wasn't looking to buy a Grand Am but here I am.

97 LS400 in for oil leaks and front main dumping. I see why people are moving to the 1UZ for stuff. I’ve worked on a couple and they usually run great with 20-30+ year old wires and plugs somehow. The OEM’s have the year printed on them. 1997.

Its going to eventually eat itself. I've seen it before on other cars of the era when people try to do E85 on the stock lines and filter.

The era of early 2000s? That excludes every DSM.

I'd run E85 on any obd1 and obd2 car. If there's gas mixed in with it, I wouldn't bat an eye.

If the system isn't designated to be flex fuel, or E85 compatible anything more than 10-15% ethanol will absolutely eat the system from the inside. I wouldn't even try it on my 2011 Lancer, because it isn't made for it.

The stock lines will eat themselves from the inside and it will destroy the filter and gum the entire system.

A/C vent in the ambulance has been broken for months now, and I finally got bored enough to do something about it. Here’s how they’re supposed to look.

And here’s my fix. Behold it’s glory and my greatness.

Notice the little flaps. They’re so you can aim the airflow and even can be closed! I can’t even tell the difference from the stock ford material and this cardboard from an empty box of gloves.

My redneckery skills impress even me sometimes.

Necessity is the Mother of Invention :thumb: ROFL

Spent the day yesterday helping a good friend dial in his 90 TSI AWD on a Fueltech FT550, his previous PB was a 10.64 @ 130 in the 1/4 mile, with a 6.89 @ 103 in the 1/8 and a 1.70 60'. He did a few dyno pulls early on this year but was having some issues once the car hit the track, I kept his boost at the same level but modified the ramp and leave as well as some 2 step and burnout mode changes, at the end of the night the car hit a 6.3 @ 116(only 1/8 mile track) with a 1.40 60'! No doubt in my mine this thing is going well into the 9's the next time out on the 1/4 mile. Got to have a nice tight race with a Tesla plaid on top of it.

LOL.. that’s what I’m talking about..!!!

This isn't really what I did to my car, but it was related to it, and ended up being a strange interaction.

So I went to help my cousin try to break the cam bolt loose on his F150. We ended up only breaking the tool....

When I left there I was hungry and decided to go to the store to get something to make for dinner. As I pull into my parking spot I see a guy getting into a Mini Cooper. I get out of my car and the car gets out and starts asking me about my Lancer. He starts just talking about his other cars, and all that. Then somehow it goes to my other cars and I mention the Talon and the 3000GT.

He then realizes who I am, because of my 3000GT. He then tells me he is the brother, of the guy who was DUI, went off the road and hit my previous house destroying the porch many years back (probably around 2016 or something) He's all apologetic for his brother and all that and tells me he's grown a lot since then. I just told him its in the past and its whatever at this point.

He then asked if I minded if he stopped by to check out the other cars one day.

It's a small freakin world sometime.

I put BRAKES on my latest 1g that I haven't had time to even look at. It had a nice CLEAN firewall. Nothing on it.....
I found the MC in the car, along with the fenders, nose and headlights amongst all the other stuff that could be jammed into it. I mounted it, half ass (not tight on the firewall yet bolted on), and threaded the rusty lines in. Bled it also half assed but it has BRAKES. It didn't have the E brake handle in it so absolutely NO BRAKES to put it on the trailer.
New thread to come...........1992 Auto TSI Drag Chassis, or whatever seems appropriate for it. It was a good deal and I don't pass them up.
Marty

Marty! No matter how far back your hairline goes, we love what you're doing! Mine proceeds year after year, and while it's not where yours is, we love you and most of all love to see what YOU'RE doing. Keep it up brother! LOL
Share some more my man!

I laugh reacted, but only out of pain as my hairline also continues to recede.

To @1990TSIAWDTALON / Marty I say this: Dammit Marty, leave some for the rest of us! :p

To @jdxnc I say: That's awesome. What turbo/setup is on the car? God I can only dream of hitting those traps and ETs.

My oldest son, Matt, HATES my hairline because he's 32 and looks like me at 61, ROFL
People ask him if he's my son, it's that bad. Pisses him off, LOL.

I've been razor shaving my head lately.. BALD to say the least. My grandfather still had a full head of hair when he passed at 88 years old a while ago, but I did not inherit those genes. I gave up on my hair line long even before it was too late. So I'm not one to pick on somebody, but I will do so anyway LOL

I'll poke back, just because, if I see the opportunity ROFL The only time it bothers me is when I mow the 3 acres. I HAVE to wear a big brimmed hat and look like that old man on a lawn mower in shorts and this huge hat. :ohdamn:;)

It's got a TPC 67mm turbo on a T3 manifold, built 6 bolt, PPG dogbox and a Ford 8.8 rear diff, tuned on a Fueltech FT550 on E98. I think it can go an 8 as it sits, if the fuel can keep up.
