I'll poke back, just because, if I see the opportunity ROFL The only time it bothers me is when I mow the 3 acres. I HAVE to wear a big brimmed hat and look like that old man on a lawn mower in shorts and this huge hat. :ohdamn:;)
As long as your nuts aren’t hanging out of the shorts for everyone to see you’re good Marty!
Or as Rodney Carrington said, “ I feel the wind, I push it in….so did he and the other one fell out the other side!”

Gotta have some big balls.. LOL I look at it this way, if ya don’t like what you see, don’t look

I put BRAKES on my latest 1g that I haven't had time to even look at. It had a nice CLEAN firewall. Nothing on it.....
I found the MC in the car, along with the fenders, nose and headlights amongst all the other stuff that could be jammed into it. I mounted it, half ass (not tight on the firewall yet bolted on), and threaded the rusty lines in. Bled it also half assed but it has BRAKES. It didn't have the E brake handle in it so absolutely NO BRAKES to put it on the trailer.
New thread to come...........1992 Auto TSI Drag Chassis, or whatever seems appropriate for it. It was a good deal and I don't pass them up.
Marty

Sanding the deck next year for refinishing

Building a shed later this year in the area on the right back there

I need to do the same thing Mark. My deck is 44x14 and that sanding is not in my BACK to do. I will probably have to hire that job out.

I just put all new boards on my deck and man I don't think I want to do that again. Overall im happy but I should have just re built the frame to. I did save myself time and money doing it this way, It was built 23 years ago so I can't be to mad. This is where alot of my time has been going. I still have half of the railing left to do.

Brakes all done. Rear sway bar links replaced. Took it for a couple drives. You can tell Subaru sized the turbo on this purely for acceleration.

Still has a rattle over bumps from somewhere, and the front sway bar is a bit loose so front sway bar end links ordered.

Consider yourself lucky. We can't use those concrete bases for deck supports because of the really expansive clay soil we have.. it would heave yearly by inches. At least, not if you're smart. You're basically left with groundhogs/screw piles or full on concrete piles down 4ft+.
But with them we have a structure that can support the a couple Talons sitting on it, so it's worth the expense.

Looking GOOD man! I need to do the Exact Same Thing dammit....

I'm working on recovering after two awesome days at The Shootout.

I didn't buy anything but some merch, but hanging out and helping friends was something I really needed.

Maybe I can find some time to actually work on (either one of) mine so it can go next year.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH.........✌️

Working to reassemble my 91 F150 2wd/5.0/AOD back into a 1pc vehicle.

I've been limping this 5.0 with a wiped out cam and cosmic blowby/carbon issues for ~10 years of short trips. ("run her till she blows")

At one point I pulled the engine because the oil drainplug was stripped. Ended up doing oil pan, timing chain and redid the head gaskets and de-carbon/reseal the intake at the same time. Still was an oil sucking slug!!

The diagnosing of the actual issue; I didn't really care to do. Just shotgun some tune-up parts at it.
It made proper oil pressure and only free-revved to 4500rpm with constant smell of oil breath and preignition marble noises.
It fired right up and ran short local trips with ice cold AC....good enough!

Then the trans decided to false-neutral 2nd on me. I wasn't looking to have that happen again and pulled the driveline.

I built a fresh roller cam 306 using various cores salvaged from underneath the workbenches of Ford friends.
Original AOD trans and converter were rebuilt by ATD.

Looking forward to my first whiff of Crimson Red paint burning off.

Have a friend rock it back and forth from the door jam and grab the suspension as best you can and feel for it.
Also drive down the road like a shallow slalom and try to make it happen.
Most likely a swaybar link buts its good to check.

I used to be the Die Hard Chevy guy, but since I've "matured", I've come to appreciate all Builds and all Makes and Models. Your truck reminds me of my old 1975 Chevy Blazer. I loved that thing. It'd go anywhere with its 5" lift and 36's on it. 😍
Nice!!!
Edit: This was her.....I forgot my wife named her, LOL. "Super Stud", hahaha.

^^^ Great post and you're spot on about growing to appreciate all builds in time.
That K-5 Blazer is absolutely worthy of the title SUPER STUD!!!

I was a bowtie guy (couldn't GIVE me a ford!) till I was a DSM guy.
Decades later I'm more like a "pre-2008 GM guy" plus a whole mix bag of other stuff which includes 2 Fords.

In their day, I always thought these brick nose (87-91) Fords were super ugly and terribly slow.
Then many years later a friend of the family gave me a great deal on this truck.
It's not the early 60's Chevy Apache or C10 I actually wanted.
Having power windows and great AC sure makes up for a lot. It has grown on me.

Staying on topic; I got the engine dropped in this past weekend.

I hope she runs as good as she looks! 😍

I'm FINALLY getting to recovery mode after the last month plus.

About 2.5 weeks ago we got word the Sr. VP of our corporation was coming to our small facility in our tiny town for a visit. Most of the facilities in the company are HUGE places with multiple buildings. We occupy a total of about 16000 sq feet, and are prepping to move into a building next door that is 30,000 sq feet, and it still won't be big enough.

Anyway, at the time of the announcement my warehouse was in complete disarray due to several factors. My manager knows I'm not afraid of the OT, and she is not afraid of the cost. At the same time I had to burn PTO, and I took time off for the Shootout.

Last week without a Saturday of OT and a Monday with no OT (because I was on PTO) I had 17.9 hours of OT. This week (our weeks are Friday to Thursday) I had 21.8 hours of OT (that was with less than 2 hours of it between yesterday and today), so I have been working my butt off, while also having other obligations on Mondays and Fridays.

I ran myself into the ground, but I got it done. The visit went fantastic. The Sr. VP was super engaged and impressed by the organization of the warehouse considering some of our restrictions, my manager was ecstatic that things went well. I got kudos from multiple people about how well everything looked. And to top it off, I slept the best I have slept in months last night.

Next paycheck is going to be FAT. I've got my normal 80 hours, plus OT is of course time and a half. Anything past 12 hours of OT in a week is double time, so I've actually got 24 hours of OT and 15.7 hours of double time coming.

Maybe I'll spend some of that money on one of the cars.
