You do know Curt, they are never BIG enough. I thought my 30x40 shop was plenty. ROFL
Looks fantastic, and you did it. That puts "pride" in the work and lord knows that is something that seems to be lacking now days.
Thanks Marty. Yeah, it's definitely a level of pride. Interior, exterior, I'm now capable of building a house.
Not that anyone would want me to LOL

There are some things that I'll hire out, mainly because I don't have the time to get them done.. like the backyard landscaping or the deck, but I at least designed them both.
but I still won't touch PEX

I also have been building a shed in my spare time this summer to replace the much smaller one I’m tired of bending over to get in. Said I would never build one in the summer again but here we are. Miserable. Poor yard has taken a beating. Still need to do some door hardware and paint touch up, but finally almost there.

Nice. I was looking at doing the ridge vent but I'm using 30cm perforated soffit all the way around in a higher exposure area so I figured I'd see first how much air movement I get.
I think I'm using the same hinges. They're all mass produced in China and branded by a dozen companies differently anyway

I'm currently in the process of trying to get a building wrapped up before winter so I can get my dsm and tools in place. It's been an overwhelming undertaking considering I had an infant when I started this and the building had sat untouched for 15 years and the mice/squirrels really did a number on it along with outdated building practices that allowed foundation issues to happen. Also spend a significant amount of time raising the bottom of the trusses up 2 feet so I have the height to put a lift in place.

ETA: ignore the mess going on currently, it’s been a whirlwind of 20 different things happening to get ready for window replacement and insulation

I’m also redoing my garage. Insulation, and plywood walls. Adding shelving all the way around the top of my wall.
Almost ready to pull the car in for winter☺️

Stuck some small round vents down bottom. Hopefully it breathes decently. Damn Florida.

I got this as a "kit" on Amazon since I had an existing foundation. Its 8x10 and looks spacious but is now almost full of DSM parts and a few SBC things. I can't build shit out of wood and a hammer/nails, but I know all about screws and "powah tools". That was back in the spring.

NOW, what am I working on that's not my DSM's?
I have 2 Infiniti's, and I30 and an I35. I can't get either to start. One, The, I30, won't roll over after a little front end fender bender and the other supposedly would start and run when it felt like it. 🤔
CURRENTLY, this week, I am trying to button up my OG SBC LT1 350 in my oldest sons Blue 1986 Z28 with a TKO600RR Trans.

Man everyone is building sheds and that literally is next on my list to house all my dsm parts. Maybe in the spring I'll build one where I can store one of my cars and store some parts. I need my garage back.

What ever size you think you need add 50% or more.

Won't be big enuf ROFL
Good for you, we all can use a little extra storage for whatever it is! 👍
I was wrong, mine is a 10x10. You could live in it though, LOL. Just incase you get kicked for all the car stuff  ROFL ✌️

I have a 10x10 and I said screw it and got another one. 10x12. Its still not enough.

So how are you guys just building sheds. Are there like, plans that you have drawn up or did you just freewheel it?
I mostly Just decide how big of a building I want and draft up something rough on paper and a material list. I also make sure I follow the permitting requirements if needed( in my area 12x12 is the maximum without a permit).

Eta: Menards has a decent building designer that has helped me in the past when I was struggling with material lists. You can go through and select sizes and heights and then you can add all the calculated materials to the cart and it'll also give you a rough idea of costs.

Wait a minute, I thought PEX was the way to go.. never used it myself but I’ve heard many a tale of the glory of winding the stuff around this and over that with nary a problem.. I’m still on the Leary side..
Well, right now I’m working on a chicken coop for the south forty area.. 10 X 25 should be a good size to pull out 5 or 6 eggs a day, maybe more.. when they get too old, off with their heads and throw em in the pressure cooker for some bomb ass nachos.. I don’t mind killing a friend if you’re gonna eat em..!! You know, so start laying bitches..!! LOL

By "I won't touch it" means I don't have the skill nor the good, expensive tools to get a "A" type connection done. I'm not a huge fan of B, as it's basically the same method as how we do CV boots around the axle shaft. Too much to risk with water pressure so I'll hire it out.
I've done copper before and have some work to do for the mother-in-law soon, I have no worries there.

The rest of the PEX equation is, do you want your incoming water lines to be basically plastic? It's probably one of the ways we're ingesting it.

Very interesting. I did a bathroom remodel 5 years ago and rerouted some plumbing. I ran pex B. I guess if it ever leaks I'm doing some drywall again.

I shot from the hip. I am a GC though. Good enough for now can only hide so much here with my HOA and neighbors. One day: Land and big ass outbuilding!

Ah, good ole HOA'S and their lovely board members and all. Dam I'm glad I have my 6 acres, OUT OF TOWN! :thumb:

This is what I got. It comes with a million screws, washers and nuts. Its skin is a bit thin, but it protects my stuff from rain after I dabbed each roof screw with sealer. You need a 2nd hand to help in it's construction. I built a wood floor for it too.

I'm probably being overly cautious on it, and I'm talking about the crimp style connections. PEX A, I find, is more elegant but costly in tools that I'm not about to invest in. I'm sure both are safe enough.
I'd still prefer copper with lead-free solder, but totally understand why PEX is replacing metal. I just don't agree with it.

I am out of touch. I grew up with an uncle that was a plumber. He showed me how to use pvc and all the shortcuts WAY back when I was only 12-14 and worked with him. Times have changed but it's what I use.

I dont really have any data but holy crap was pex b easy to install.

PVC isn't approved up here for drain, only ABS. "Same shit", just different adhesive LOL
but what I'm talking about is feed not waste.
