One day Marty.
I have to mow 3 of those.
WM Mower - 4 hrs for 28 years
Hustler Super Z XR7 60" - 1.5 hrs last 5 yrs
Zero turns are the real deal. :thumb:

Zero turns are no joke. I mow local properties with one, or a few. I have a Hustler Raptor that I ride to and mow local properties with. Occasionally I have to "test" customers equipment and do it. As long as the tires and blades are good, it gets the job done impressively. You can't exactly cruise around in customer's cars but can definitely mow with them, so I do that.

I regret buying a regular riding mower when I moved into my current house three years ago. My front lawn is 3/4 acre and it's shaped funny so mowing with a standard rider involves a lot of turning around, backing up, and driving over the same spot multiple times to get all the different "sections" mowed.

My next mower will be a zero turn.

I drew the lucky stick at work, and got a TLX with a locked up engine. This car got the rod bearing recall over a year ago at a jersey store… the tech put the rod caps on the wrong rods… somehow it made it 1.5 years 20k miles before sending two rods out the block! Impressive. We’re halfway through long block replacement.

That sucks. How does someone even do this? You only separate cap/rod individually. He must have had a bunch of them separated on his work station.

I finished building the engine for my Mustang. It just awaits a day to be dropped in after I install the clutch.

Good eyes man! Looks like somebody is hiding a Shelby.....

This is an old timer who continually goes somewhere else to get work done then we fix it after. Can you tell? They hammered the prongs down for the alternator fuse in the fuse block and then tried to connect the black wire that is supposed to be on the other side to that side with all of a couple strands intact. It’s wild the stuff I see.

The bulletin has us remove all six rod caps and replace all bearings

that’s Mike Piazzas (baseball player) it’s an original 67 GT500 and was turned into a gone in 60 seconds replica. It was sold on Barrett Jackson for 300k LOL

Would still change the rims. ;)

If you ever have a chance to work on a twincharged Volvo just get some gas, a match and call insurance 😂. The outlet for the supercharger feeds the turbo and they are notorious for eating bearings. Not crazy but damn everything it tight.

Just picked up a '98 Ranger 5 speed. Smooth ride home, over 1 hour drive. Tail shaft seal leaks a little but I'll tackle that in a couple hours soon. Won't be using this truck for much besides moving car parts around and hauling scrap metal. Not a bad deal at all for $2k and maybe $500 in repairs and maintenance. Might start a build thread while I fix it up and earn quick cash.

Forgot to show the end of the Grand Am exhaust. Very happy with this. It idles quieter than stock, cruises basically stock, and when I go WOT it sounds a hair more aggressive than stock.

Connecting the passenger-side tip to be functional would have been ridiculous plumbing, and having only the driver tip connected I think would have discoulored that tip and not the other. So I made the exhaust exit sleeper out of the center opening below the license plate, and the tips would the be dummies. This works out good actually as the tips never get dirty and I could really put them in exact placement with no thought of them ever moving. I put about 500 miles on this setup so far and no problem with the bumper as far as heat or carbon goes. I do run about 2 gallons of E85 per tank fill up, so I'm not sure if that aids with a cleaner burn.

Made a "frame" the size of the bumper outlet.

2" bend that I sliced up.

Assembled with a diy cone to go from the 2.5" exhaust piping and capped off the other end with some scrap metal so exhaust can only exit out the framed exit.

Had a tree that grew at a really bad angle over the garage removed this weekend. Guy did a great job, took it down piece by piece in about 2 hours with zero damage.

My Sprinter van was parked for a year with the rooftop AC leaking. Mercedes uses a foam gasket which had deteriorated to that point that spraying it with a hose was blowing out chunks of gasket material. Repaired by removing all the foam and adhesive, and used Dicor 501 self-leveling lap sealant instead of foam.

The clean up job on the interior took many days. First, I used 3x 20g Chlorine Dioxide tablets overnight to kill odor producing biologicals. Then I vacuumed the interior with a HEPA vac while wearing a respirator.

Seemed safe enough to do the rest without the respirator so I steamed cleaned the headliner, dash, steering wheel, seatbelts, and door panels. My Sprinter has rubber/vinyl flooring for the front floorboard and a rigid composite for the rear just behind the front seats. So I used degreaser, a hose, scrub brush, and mop to clean the floorboard. From there more steam cleaning and spot treatments with enzyme stain remover… and more steam cleaning, especially the headliner.

Anyway, it cleaned up fairly well.

I'm surprised that you could even do 2 gallons of E85 in it

I figured factory the ECU is targeting rich like ours does so there was some room to mix it in. Always wanted to try it out on a stock car of this era to see if it would work - and it does. I just wish I could physically adjust for a couple more * timing up top to see a true benefit of doing it. I thought of physically modifying the sensor to clock it, but never pursued past the thought.

I do see HPTuners supports this car which is seriously amazing and maybe a good opportunity for me to learn a new language aside of dsmlink.

Does it have to be automotive or even mechanical? All the time is my server and network.

Other than that my Jeep Grand Cherokee half-daily driver. Had it for I think almost 5 years now. Every year I passed emissions light because I was able to reset the codes for O2 stuff. This year was the straw that broke the camel's back that led me down an ongoing rabbit hole. I take it to a shop to do the inspection and emissions stickers, and to do whatever mechanical stuff needs done for inspection. I got 2 Bosch O2 sensors, they installed, weren't right. They wanted their loaner back and said they would order the proper sensors that day. Picked it up, went to pick up food, alternator dies on the way and the vehicle is absolutely undriveable because of the O2 issues. They tow it back the next day. I can wait, a friend let me borrow a vehicle to get to work. They install their sensors a few days later and it passes. I get it back, next day engine light is on for O2 codes. Call them, service manager is already out for the day. They take note of the codes.

This was June 19th and I've yet to hear back. I really don't care at this point. I am going to have to take it to a diagnostician, because the vehicle is a parts mess. It is a California emissions vehicle. The harness and exhaust have four O2 sensors. Two banks because V8. On each bank, one upstream and one downstream. The PCM someone put in a reman unit and it is a federal PCM. It only uses two O2 sensors. It would be the driver's side bank. It seems no matter the O2 sensors bought, the pinouts are wrong. I don't have a lift to access any of this stuff, so I am going to take it to a diagnostician type of garage when I get this DSM I just got 100% reliable to drive to work. I just got a new alternator and it flickers sometimes. I want to get a volts gauge installed to keep an eye on things.
