I've been storing M1 methanol and it has been working just fine. I wouldn't store fuel in the gas tank of a car though.
OP, for what it's worth i've driven an hour to the track on E85 made a couple passes and only having a quart tank left on the way back filled up rest of tank with 93 oct and didn't even need a retune to drive back home.
So if you ever run low on it you should at least be able to get back somewhere safe. It seems if you mix enough e85 with pump gas it has almost has the same effects as straight e85.
