Should I Switch To E85 With The Closest Station 35mins Away?

I've been storing M1 methanol and it has been working just fine. I wouldn't store fuel in the gas tank of a car though.

OP, for what it's worth i've driven an hour to the track on E85 made a couple passes and only having a quart tank left on the way back filled up rest of tank with 93 oct and didn't even need a retune to drive back home.

So if you ever run low on it you should at least be able to get back somewhere safe. It seems if you mix enough e85 with pump gas it has almost has the same effects as straight e85.

Ive been running a 50/50 blend of E85 & pump gas for 4 years. I've stored it up to 3 months with no ill effects. The dsm has been down for 4.5 months this time, so I guess I'll see how that goes...I have a 30 gal plastic drum that used to contain liquid fertilizer. Not sure how much better it is than a metal drum...

Yes you can, and it works wonders even at 25%. It brought me from 25psi to 30 at around 30% e85 with 93 oct.

Make the trip to the E85 station and fill up a 5ga container the day before the dyno. Have your car tuned on 91oct then fill it up and have them tune it on E85, the numbers will tell you if it's worth the 22 mile drive to fill up.


Put 91oct in your car and tell me how things work out for you with the same tune you run on 94oct. You can't compare the two fuels, if you were running 91 you wouldn't be getting over 24-25psi out of that HX40 and maybe 7* peak if you're lucky...

I ran 92 in washington less timing more boost with the .55 housing.... But i agree, im creepin up on maxing out pump gas right now on 28psi

Thanks alot bro! I'm going to try this out after this year of college. I need to get an new harmonic balancer. Do you think an exhaust, fmic, mbc, intake are a good first list?

Not being a ass but try to keep it somewhat on topic.

I think I might just try it out for a week or two just to see how the gas mileage/trip to get it is going to be. I'll get maps so when I want to track/dyno it. I don't plan to run it as my primary fuel because the station is north of me and not in my normal driving route to anything. The track is 1hr south of me in Georgia with the next station in G.A. about 1hr from the track. So I'd be about 1.5 hrs from e85 once I leave the track and I'd probably convert back to 93.
