hello every one. my name is matt and i have decided to get rid of all my mustangs and mustang parts and get a dsm. my first car was a 91 gsx and i loved it, but 10 years ago i didnt know what i know now. i plan to daily drive this car and throw some small performance into it. im torn between the 1st and 2nd gens. ive been reading the forums and all the stories of cw. as far as quality of the stock parts, and the price and availability of performance parts which is better?

2g all the way they are way better looking 1gs look super old like a 70s car UGLY but they do run better....get what you think will work best for what you car wanting to do

wow you kidding me right?
I do not like the 2g's. Apart from being a DSM they get no respect from me:p
1G all the way they are much sexier, 6/4 bolt, run better and are alot cheaper and cheaper parts.

And lets face it-HOW MANY CHICKS HAVE YOU SEEN DRIVING AROUND IN A 1g?

It is the interior of the 1G that bothers me the most, I really hate that hump that it has at the instrument cluster, and the radio center console area just looks so 70s or 80s style, the exterior is decent though. The 2G styling and interior ergonomics are perfect in all aspects. Ive owned both. 2G all the way!!!

haha.... so many opinions... really, it ultimately is up to you. There are drawbacks both ways, but i'd say that if you can, try and drive both, then make your decision..... Personal prefrence. But, to continue the trend, 1g ftw!!!!

i love the cockpit style of the 1g, but 2g the rest of the way. i would love to build a 2g with the full interior out of a 1g

just get whatever you like best. i have owned both 1gs and 2gs and i like 2gs a little bit better (the 99 eclipse gsx is my fav or the 98 talon tsi awd ...). but i do own a 91 gsx ....

actually there are a few here that drive n/t 1.8s ...

Got rid of a mustang to get a DSM? Haha your doin the same as me :thumb:
Ive heard the better way to go about it is get a 2g with a 1g engine due to crank walk and all that....but i geuss it comes down to what style you want?

2g FTW :hellyeah:

2G. 1Gs aren't as good looking, the interiors are crappier, and of course, there is more age in all of the components. Look for a GOOD clean rust free 2g though. They started skimping on rustproofing in the 2g.
