Im not into this dsm world, but i would like to get into it. I have found a 95 Elipse GSX for sale and the price is 3000. I have heard that these motors, once they get high miles that they are pretty much useless. Now i dont know if that is true or not that is just what i heard. This car has 132,xxx miles on it and its all stock. The guy is kicking in a transfer case for 50 bucks and it comes with 2 sets of wheels, power everything, new interior, and the body is in great shape. I was wondering if I should buy this car? I have enough money to get the car and the transfer case and i was wondering if i am goin to have to put serious cash into it soon? Like a new motor or something. PLease any imput asap will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Take it to a local shop you trust and have them do a compression test, and a quick check over everything else. Soulnds like a good price to me though.

I don't know where you heard that but I wouldnt worry about that toomuch. There are tons of cars on this site with ALOT more then that and have alot of mods done to them, still running strong. If the engine was never rebuilt, sure it may need that within the next 50k miles, but the engine is by no means useless.

Sounds like a good price for a 2g awd, I paid 3k for my 95 tsi FWD which had 92k on it when I bought it.

i have a 96 GST and it has 167,xxx miles and it runs great. just make sure he has never raced it and if it's all stock it should be great. the only thing you have to worry about with these motors is when you start modifying them :dsm:
