Alright thats my set goal, but how to get there? Theres so many paths to take, but Im looking for the one thats the most reliable.
I really dont care about cheap, ### the two dont ever go hand in hand

So the goal of the game is to make an upgrade path to 300horse power, thats as reliable as possible.
The only requirement is that the path is for a 1g awd tsi

What kind of injectors should I run?
All the research Ive done tells me Id be fine with 650 injectors if I upgrade to a 16g.

What 16g turbo should I go with?

Fuel Pump?190?255?
Whats a quiet fuel pump, ### ive heard the walboros are noisy.

Engine Modifications?Should I run Cams or anything?

Intercooler Upgrade? Hard pipe or Front mount?

However since this still is my DD, Ill only be running 91 octane, nothing too crazy.
Is 300hp possible without a tune?
 
Injectors- IMO that would be preference for which brand but you wouldn't need anything bigger than 550's.
Turbo- any 16g can get you to that goal if I were you I would go with the big 16g or the evo3 16g so you have a little wiggle room.
Fuel pump- A Walbro 190 would work perfect.
Intercooler- I'm not positive but i think the stock smic's can handle a decent amount of power but I would go with a fmic since your not worried about cost.
And lastly you should definitely get it tuned professionally or get ecmlink and do it yourself. As a dd that car would never last no matter what on no tune.

Oh and get ARP head studs or an equivalent and an mls headgasket

I would go with 272 cams

evo 3 16g

frontmount intercooler

make sure you did your mantainance timing belt ect

Walbro 255

720 or 650cc injectors

dsmlink with a TUNE
every car needs a tune think about it the 16g pushes more air your injectors that you will get will spit more fuel
with dsm link you can make 1000cc injectors idle like stock ,
Tune your car with this mod list you should be about 280-300 hp on a heathy motor
 
I would say a FMIC is a necessity as well. You wouldnt need a very big one but I was heat soaking the stock sidemount at about that power level (17psi on E3 16g) An upgraded sidemount would probably work as well

By itself, 91 octane fuel will limit your power production considerably. It starts to knock at boost pressures around 18 psi or so which is compounded even more if you're still on a 14b because the turbo would be blowing a lot of hot air at that boost pressure. Without a way to adjust AFR's and tune for knock, you could potentially be hurting your motor.

Here in CA, we have 91 octane as well. In order for me to safely and comfortably run boost at or above 18 psi, I added a progressive methanol injection system in addition to using ECMLink for tuning. This allowed me to run my e316 at an AFR of 10.5 to 11.0, boost at about 23 psi with max timing at about 16 degrees BTDC without knocking. Without the methanol, I could see 7-10 degrees of knock retard which I think eventually led to the demise of my head gasket. All this was on the stock block, stock head gasket, stock 6-bolt head bolts, Supra side mount intercooler, FIC 650's and Wally 190 fuel pump.

If you have reasonable access to e85, I would suggest building your upgrade path with its use in mind. I've since switched from 91 ocatane pump gas to e85 and now use FIC 1100 high-z injectors. Without the methanol activted, I can run the same boost pressure at a target AFR of 12.0 and timing maxed out at 22 degrees with no knock. ECM Link estimates 350+hp.
 
Look at my profile and look at my mods, I pulled on my buddy's car that made 550awhp. I honestly have no clue how but I beat him in an even race.
 
The 14b is a stout little turbo i have a 14b on my car at 17psi and it pulls nice not 300whp but it is doable and the walbro 255 isnt that loud i have one in my car and with the rear seat in you can barely hear it.
