I was looking in a magazine and they said that Pacesetter made a header for the turbo. Does anyone know about the quality or performance of the header?
 
I doubt your going to see numbers any time soon since less than 5 people have mentioned using the manifold at all.
 
I might buy one just because im getting pissed off at not having any answers.. I have access to a wideband and a dyno... but first i gotta do my tranny fix (3rd gear synchro) and my big brake upgrade.. so happy waiting..
 
Tunning for 24 psi on pump is fine, on the top end of the RPM range, but it is how much fuel is going in at the bottom of the RPM range that gets the turbo going. If the people tunning his car put good fuel over the whole rpm range, or eevn richened it up on the bottom, then he may spool slower, it doent matter if he is running 24 or 100psi, thats upper RPM fel map.
If people want to pitch in, I will swap out the stock junk for a run to see the difference when the colt gets back together in spring

They changed my mind, i just got back on here for the first time in three months and my first question was going to be about this turbo header i saw on ebay.... Well unfortunat for pacesetter i will not be buying from them :( DNP has my vote, im on a kinda low budget also, all this means is i have to work a little harder to get that extra $$$ to get the DNP, and i am also all about custom work, you could get on the horn with pace setter and get that header without any flanges at all, and if you look around on ebay you will see 3/8 inch 4g63 flanges for both the head and the turbo, take it to midas or meineki no more than $40-$50 i promise, and they can prolly have it weilded up anyway you want, and thats probly a great choice, but im realy sold on the DNP, great review, looks great, and a better spool up time. will pace setter warantee my 16g when the cherrys on the inside of the pace setter header chew the exhaust turbine up? my suggestion is to contact pace setter and tell them the problems with there item, they obviously dont have a way to test there product other than us, the consumer, each to his own, if you want the pace setter header i understand low budget and i know where your coming from

Wow, just as a question, how old is JDM? He is on a level of maturity that is beyond me. I cant hold an intelegent discusion that is under the notion that if it doesnt come out of their mouth, it is not correct.

GaRn, thanks. Yeah, the colt is pretty stupid. The cost is low because I got the car in great condition for 50$, and the motor and harness out of a backsmached talon for 200 somthing. I may go over budget if I get the car repainted as I want to, but if I dont it will be under 3000$ for every penny invested. If you want to see it run, I will be at teh shoootout, and I will run 11's
Pics of my car will be up in a day or so
 
I surely hope all threads on this form don't go this intelligently and informatively, I wouldn't want to think I goined this "DSMTUNERS" form to get overly educated on how to really make my car better??? :thumbdown

If it was illegibal, than you wouldnt have know what word to correct me on. GS>< and others seem to be right about you. If I wanted a grammar lesson, I will be sure to sign on an english tutor site. I've known I cant spell crap since 1st grade, so thank you. Stop beating around the bush (while still providing insight into your elevated maturity level) and answer the question of how old you are, it is quite a simple one to answer.....

Agreed. In conclusion I have my own initial impression of the DNP header that I will post once I have finished tuning the car. I did some light tuning on the drive back from the shop today. All I can say for now is the DNP and FP3052 are a wicket combo so far.

They cant close this thread yet. Chris might have asked people to spell correctly, but he also asked that you not be a dick. Maybe he didnt say it in those words, but I am sure that there is something like that. JDM has obviously realized that noone carees about his opinion so now he has lowered himself to just making fun of people since he cant make anymore fun of the header. From a glance of all of the posts that are on this thread I would summize that you are disliked and obviously a jerk. I mean really, this was supposed to be a thread about the good and the bad of this header and all you can do is write over and over, DNP, DNP, DNP. One would believe that you work for them and are advertizing, but I doubt that they have enough money to hire people to advertise thier product when they only sell them for 600 dollars....Will that even cover thier overhead. I dont see how it could. Hey when I win the lottery I will buy a dnp header and be happy, but until then I will have to live with my header that makes 2 less hp and spools up 100 rpm slower. There will never be a comparison between the dnp and the pacesetter to see how much better it is. Cause noone will spend the time and money to tune and dyno one and then tune and dyno the other. So i really think that you should shut up since you have NO experience with the header and are only here to bash it and other people that dont agree with you. Jackass. And so everyone knows unless this jdm guy uses his fathers aol name then he is retired and likes pinchole. So that should pretty much answer that. He is a senile old man.

Well that makes me feel better. For a second their, I though I was the A-hole somewhere in the thread. My question still hasnt been answered though, but at this point I dont care, my point has obviously been made

As foer the header, I vow to try my best to get some real numbers for the header vs. a ported 1g. And I will be extensive and honest with the month to month maitnence.

As the starter of this thread I ask that unless you have something to say in regards to the original question, please refrain from posting. What if someone pulls this from the archives in 3 months, are they gunna want to sift through all of this bull$hit just to see what people think of the manifold? NO. if it has a warranty and they ADHERE to it.. i would say go for the manny.. just get a dremel and clean up the inside a little bit, or modify it how you want.. i would.

jdm, i dont hold grudges, your still cool with me, plus you do have a kickass car, just didnt want you to feel like everyone was after you.. heh
 
This is a great thread topic, and i would hope that tuning info is more important to you guys that a pissing contest of whats better or worse, alot of people are goingto have the same question, "what do you think of the pacesetter turbo header" and they all deserve to know what people who have used it have experienced, im with the DNP header, and its on my list, but no one asked if there was a better header, you guys should just get along, its been said and said again that the DNPheader is way better, but thats not in question, lets talk about how to strengthen those weilds and how tomake the pacesetter better, our goals are one in the same, if you want the pacesetter header because its cheap bling, or if your trying to get a little more with a little amount of money, we are all in the same boat, so how about a new begining :confused: and lets not worry about how old JDM is or how much he payed for his stuff, again i dont want to see this thread closed so lets make progress here :thumb: sorry if i have offended anyone
 
Updates on the pacesetter...not the other shit.

He is suspended now so lets not go that route. I just want to hear about the manifold.
