I was looking in a magazine and they said that Pacesetter made a header for the turbo. Does anyone know about the quality or performance of the header?

hey , gotta have fun somehow.

ok question. does anyone know ho much like ft wise the header wrap goes for for these headers. my paint s all ghey and i dont wanna have to sand blast the headers and all that. how many ft will i need. ad whee can i get it

speak whats on your mind man. mitsu is a buddy of mine we were just bustin balls:laugh:

if its about the 1g batig a 2g thingi can back itup with tech info that proves the 1g is faster on a numbr of points

Would it be a good or bad thing to port a pacesetter exhaust header? Is it even possible??

Does anyone know where I could get a good deal on a downpipe for my 93 laser rs n/t??

You have to taper the edges that would obstruct flow, the pipes are smaller than the outlets on the head, so that's all you can really do, if you port past the flange you will need to get it re-welded. Least you won't loose ALL your torque :p

I have the pacesetter header on my car. After my tranny died last month i took it off, header wrapped it and ported it to the gasket. I accidently ported a little to much in some area's and had to have it rewelded. Sounds very good now, but i am unable to drive the car until i get my shifter cables, NOW I have a manual trans. I can definetly tell the header wrap is worth having, the header will heat up your engine bay ALOT. i suggest getting the wrap and guy the silicone spray so the wrap doesnt hold water and rot out the header. I have all this done to mine and would have to say its gonna be very much worth it.

i also have a pacesetter header, and if you have exhaust, i would say it worth gettin. there isnt much to port.....but just clean up any welds....and exhaust wrap is pretty much a must......or else it just gets way to hot under the hood and it was making my car stall (hacked aircan) but once i wrapped it, no problems

Alright I know there must be tons of articles in this forum on which header to go with for the 2g n/t, but of course since it is 230 in the morning and I dont want to spend the next 5 hours reading I thought I would do myself a favor and post.

I heard alot of the Pacesetter Header, but not much of the Greddy Header if anyone has tried both let me know... Or better yet if you know what differences I may expect from both companies... Any and all info would help me, I would personally just go for the Greddy header since it has a better rep than Pacesetter, but not in all cases is the name make it a better quality product.

So please help me out if not I am getting the Greddy Header.

I've not had DSM first-hand experience with either, but I did run a Pacesetter on my Datsun Roadster.... for about 3,000 miles. It burned out a tube where an assembly tack-weld had been. I thought I was under fire.

Other hearsay is that Pacesetter's quality is lacking.

Pacesetters look bad and they suck as the above poster said. GReddy is way to expensive. You can get some good looking OBX headers for 150 dollars on Ebay. do parts search for 'eclipse header'

Alright what if cost was not a factor in my quest for the ultimate header? Would Greddy be at all better in performance than say OBX? I mean they must have something over the compition? Also I think that Greddy products are CARB legal in all 50 states is the OBX header 50 state legal or "for off road use only?"

Let me know what you know...

Honestly I have a friend that has greddy header and a greddy exhaust on his eclipse and it doesnt drive or feel any different than mine and i have an obx header and hp exhaust. With greddy you pay for the name most of the time.Same as apexi and other big names. And i am pretty sure that an obx header is street legal as well. Mine didnt say anything about off road use only or anything.

greddy header is well worth the cash. i love mine, i feel a difference. looks great too.

Hey what else are you running with the greddy header? Exhaust? Test pipe or race cat? Where do you feel more of the gains low, mid high end? I know I always wanted a Greddy header, but I have to make sure that other people are loving it as well.

dude if u are geting tubular headers it doesnt metter if it is going to be gready or peacesetter or obx header is header all work the same it is just the name and I gess the look (greddy).

Header wrap is a high temp cloth you wrap around your header to keep the heat in the header and out of the engine bay. I got mine from http://www.designengineering.com/ I suggest getting the clamps and the silicone spray. The spray will make it so the wrap wont hold moisture and rot out the header. i wrapped and sprayed my header and downpipe. I can definetly tell the difference.

Isnt that almost saying that an exhaust is an exhaust they all work the same, its just they all look different, but in the exhaust case thats not true so shouldnt that be the same aspect with headers, they all work the same yes, but quality in the bending and material also play a big factor. I dont disagree when it comes down to it everything works in the same way, what i am looking for is something that will tip the scale for me in choosing the right header. Sound, performance, CARB legal, street use, etc...

Thank you though all opinions do help me make my decision

haha ya i didnt spray mine.....but i'm goin turbo soon so i don't really care..... header wrap is definatley worth it and the little metal clamps help big time with the installation!

im running the greddy header with a full 2.5 inch apexi n1 catback, and a bomz high flow cat ( which is really just a pipe ). i feel a big increase in the mid range. come 4xxx it just goes. i also got a little more low end power because the header is a 4-1.

Thanks bro really appreciate the feedback. I think I will go ahead with the Greddy Header...
