Punishment racing fmic for 2g

I agree boostjunki, i would see why ebay should raise it as there are still people who are willing to pay the $370 for the kits, but the majority of the people who rather buy the kit on ebay outnumber the "bigger ballers" if you catch my drift, LOL.

I agree. That's the problem. People want great parts but don't want to pay for them. Everyone forgets the R&D that goes into them and the fact that thier is a business that has to be run as well. The bottom line is the more funding a company has the more R&D and new parts it can make for our community.

If you want someone to lower thier FMIC prices, you can call BR or ETS and tell them to lower thier prices.

ETS (95-99) 2G DSM Eclipse/Talon 10.5" Race Intercooler Kit DSM02IKRace

I bought my kit roughly two months ago.

My friend with a 2g bought one as well.....no mistakes he the game same exact stuff i got with mine. They simply are selling the same kit for way less.

A Friend of mine in canada is running this intercooler setup and made roughly 400hp. And he said it was doing just fine. Who knows what it could push. My goal right now is 350 or better.

So that makes 4 people already with the ebay fmic kit with the same pr pipes..
Do i hear EBAY INCREASED FMIC purchases coming up ? :hmm:

i know im kind of off topic, but what is the most hp made using this kit. and ya, i have the 2g pr kit.

Has anyone mounted the PR FMIC kit on a 2gA eclipse/talon? The kit comes w/the bar to hold the ic on- but there are also two tabs that come along. The 2gB talons have a place for the bar to bolt right onto w/the existing holes already drilled. The 2ga's do not- do you have to drill your supports for the 2ga install?

i have it installed on my 2ga talon. no drilling needed for the bar. didnt use the tabs thoe.

I don't have a link, i think after shipping it was 229.

And no it WASN'T universal the piping was MADE for the 2g. Haad the nipple for 16g installation and everything. Pipes and couplers went on beautifully, as well as the throttle body elbow.

Was this is?

Linky $199 plus $59 shipping

It doesn't look like it comes with the bar that would be around $60 shipped

So about $320 shipped outside CA and $340 and some change for Cali folks.

Screw the bar, go to home depot and get a metal bar and custom cut it. <$15. Done.

I got my punishment/cx racing 2g kit yesterday hopefully I will get it installed this week and give a good report for the auto guys. Mine did come with a bov at this point im unsure if im going to use it or my 1g bov. Its going to take a few days for me to get to it since i have a down pipe thats going in the fmic, punishments alum rad and fan kit and fp hta68. since the weather out is not being to good. I will wait and take it to work with me on monday.

Ah man you beat me to getting it shipped first Stang!!! LOL

I should get my P.R. later today. :hellyeah:

I recommend using the 1g bov.

I got my PR FMIC yesterday before I even went to work...8 AM BTW...I think I got it the earliest LOL

But anyhow due to the snow we got today I wont have a chance to install it...Waiting to see how well it goes in...

Hey stang let me know how that hte68 goes im interested. Let me know how is the spool and mid-top end on that turbo and at what psi you ran it.

Yea. I think the 1 G looks better. Im just not down with the purple on the PR BOV. I have been going over all the pipes and so far im happy with the quality for the dollar.

Will do I need to do a little work to it before I use it. I did not get it ported and it has a little extra metal around the wastegate aera so im gonna smooth that lip out. Maybe even polish the housing up to match the rest of my pipes. I still need to buy the lines to install since im removing the t25. J pipe comes in the intercooler kit. I really hope to crack over 320awhp through the auto trans.

Just performancewise alone I'd use the 1G.

On another note, I guess Fedex doesn't ship in the weekend because I didn't get my kit yesterday. Sucks. :)

You will get yours bolted up before me anyway. I was shooting for today for the install but the car never made it more than 2 miles from the house before the altenator took a dump again. So I figured i would order a heat shield from mitsu to replace the one I lost and get another altenator. Always something.

Well I got mine today. :D:hellyeah:

Here are some pics. I never really saw any pics of the piping bolted up to the core OUTSIDE the car so I thought I'd take a few.

I think P.R. should grab some of these and post them on their site (and give me some discounts for royalties LOL) and they'll benefit anybody that's looking to get one.

Yea my cat was just as excited as me. :D

I think I may give the bov a shot. I just want to see how well it holds boost and how it sounds (the ricer in me) :)

Overall the quality is pretty good. The welds look clean but I did see some extra shaving on the inside of the bov flange but no big deal.

As far as the core, the VR-Speed seems a bit cleaner and more polished than this one but IIRC this one is larger.

As you can see from the last pic there is an extra coupler. Not really sure what it's for. Just one more for the spare parts bin.

I can't wait til Spring to bolt this baby up. I think my FP Green will really enjoy it.:rocks:

Nah man I wanted a sure thing so I spent the few extra bucks but while it was on the Punishment Racing Black Friday sale.

Looks like a nice setup!. I went and bought an SBR short route instead of picking this kit up and paid for it...$700+ and my welds on the end tanks blew open half way through the summer so I had to have them heliarc'd back up. :(

Here we go...Stated to install the core itself today, and I wanted to keep as much of my bumper as much as possible...After a well thought out plan on how I wanted it cut...I kept the entire crash beam besides the part right behind the black portion on the 2gb eclipse bumper...will post pics up sometime...

What I tried was putting the bumper over the aluminum bar...but wont fit due to the mounting brackets...also I thought the FMIC was a tad to low...doing it my way will raise it up to be behind and not underneather the bumper...

Kinda hard to say exactly what I mean but I'll get some pics up asap

i have the same core i love it here it is on my car

redturboeclipse....jjrocks kit is the same as mine the pipes all come with the setup its nice easy install

Sweet man, get some pics up. I'd want to keep the crash beam as well.

Heres a few pics for you then...I cut the bumper support at an angle to get the bar through on each side....BUT i gave enough room to allow it to slide to get it perfectly shimmed...Then I drilled where the bolts go through on top of the core...again I kept sliding the bar to mare sure I had full adjustment....then last but not least I had to trim the top piece a bit at each bolt for the core to be able to use washers.....It's kinda hard to explain but youll be able to see it in my pics kinda....

If you try and bolt the bar on then put the bumper brackets on they will not fit....doing it my way it will fit.....Plus also I notice when I just used the bar itself..the FMIC kinda sat a little to low for my taste ~1.25 inch below bumper cover....But doing it my was brought it up just perfectly....

Hmm interesting. Ill have to keep that in mind especially if you say the FMIC hangs down normally.

I think it does hang down a little too much, but not now.
