Anyone out there have any experience with the prosport wideband 02, or any review threads/sites/....OR should I just go with the Aem uego?

I wanted prosport to match my other gauges, but...

I came across this thread because I typically trust and agree with a lot of the input that's thrown across this board (not all). Good stuff, good arguements, and usually points are proven. My friend has been using my AEM Wideband in his DSM while I've been deployed, and I have the option of getting a new one from him to replace it. I saw that Prosport came out with a new version of the Wideband and it looks nice, but the simple fact that I don't know if it has an analog output for datalogging will keep me at bay.

HOWEVER, and a big one at that, for all of you Prosport Nae-sayers... how many of you who had f'd up gauges were using the Premium/Peak gauges? EVERY single reference I've ever seen on the internet (pictures/videos, etc) that show a guage that's off or faulty are on the cheap 50 dollar 'rebadged glowshift' mechanical units. I've never once heard a problem about anyone who has paid 100 bucks per gauge for the Premium set. In fact, I've heard nothing but good things. I myself use them and have no complaints. And it's easy to distinguish these gauges from the cheap mechanical ones. Look at their website and I'm sure you'll notice the difference also.

So, not to say that Prosports Wideband is crappy... but if anyone ever buys one and can confirm for us the simple questions asked earlier, please do! Until then, not all of their products are bad. Beats the hell out of 400 dollar DEFI gauges, looks better too IMO.

Definitely a good point. I wonder if they do or plan to make premium gauges with a clear lens. That'd be sweet.

This is the response I got from Prosport when I sent them the list of questions posted above.

Brian,

Sorry but this kit we make does not have any output signals. Its a complete standalone gauge.

The control box has a calibration button on it. Typically you calibrate the gauge 1-2 times a month.

It can not emulate a narrow band o2

The gauge reads 10-20 AFR.

Hope this helps,

Ryan

Thanks. Looks like its no good for me. I just don't see the point if you can't log the afr. I emailed them a bit back but didn't receive the response, I suppose the spam filter could have caught it.

Wow, I almost bought a Prosport. I guess I am now leaning towards an Innovate LC-1. Should I not?

I have had both in the same car. The aem isn't really that great, but way better than the prosport. The prosport was more sensitive to high egt's, yes i have an egt gauge to. During extended pulls the o2 reading would fluctuate when the egt's were high more than the aem. Also the prosport has no features at all, no analog or digital out. The aem has a serial out for logging and a configurable out for an analog 0-5v. I personally like this because i eliminate the stock narrowband and run the aem output into my ecu. The prosport would be ok if it was about $100, it is an ok cheap wideband gauge. But, at the price point it is marketed at, there are many other, better options.

Ill be getting the innovative lc-1 with the blue gauge its the second thing on my list for the winter after i get ecmlink v3. This was a good thread, i was getting the aem, or the innovative, because of the overall features im looking for.

Theres a Honda in college station with a prosport, its bounce from lean to rich, levels out then starts bouncing again, we hooked up a narrow band and it leveled out. I almost bought one but i went with a Zeitronix instead cant wait to see how it works.

Pretty much, the LC-1 has the wideband controller built into the cord for ease of use with outputs to plug into your tuner device of choice.

just wanted to throw it out there but Zeitronix makes a pretty nice set up as well with both logging capability and their new gauge monitors egt, boost, a/f, and one more that I can't think off the top of my head.
