just about done installing my aem uego gauge....now i im aware that the grey wire goes to the dimer switch wire so it can dim properly, my question is this... the power wire that needs to be conected to a 5A fuses source, where is a good place to tap in for this? im aware it needs to be only on when i turn the ignition key on... not sure where to tap in???

i think you might be a bit confused... tap the power wire into a 12V power source (i used my cigarette lighter) and did the same with my ground. the white wire goes to a 0-5V power source for logging in dsmlink. that wire you'd cut and tap into pin 75 of your ECU to log out of your rear o2 sensor location. if you aren't logging with dsmlink though you'd just use the power and ground wire...

why would i be confused? the power wire needs to be conected to a 5 amp fused source, cigarette lighter would be a good place yeah thats a good idea. i dont have a rear 02 sensor, i have a 1g and the white wire i was not talking about that one... there is a GREY wire that you can conect to the dimmer switch so you can dim your gauge.

i was only wondering about the power wire, where a good 5 amp fsed source would be.

Well whether your confused or not the cigarette lighter is perfect because it gets its 12v when you turn the key to the ON position.

What on the guage are you going to dim? My AEM UEGO didn't come with the install instructions since I bought it used, i just taped that wire up. I'd be curious to find out if that wire actually can be used with the dimmer switch and what it would dim on the guage. There is no backlight and I can't see it being used to dim the AFR LED's or the disco red/yellow/green light show either...

did i not mention it was the new analog one? sorry... yeah i have the uego analog.
there is the power wire and the dimmer wire to hook up to the dimmer switch...just like you would do with a typical boost gauge

The cigarette lighter is not the "perfect" place to wire it in but is the most common. The wideband does require a 5 amp 12v power source to protect it, most people just install a fusable link with a 5 amp fuse if installing it on a different circuit. Not 100% sure on a 1g so just check your fuses in the car and see which one has a 5 amp fuse and run off of that circuit.

:rocks: DAMN! I didn't even know there was such a thing! You wouldn't mind taking a few night shots of it installed would you please?

sure ill do that..im sure you can find pics online allready tho...my car is on the road in about 2 more weeks. yeah i like the analog one cause you dont get the bright LED always flashing in your face and the numbers change really fast .... the analog one is smooth cause its a needle and you can see the motion or whats going on insted of a bunch of digital numbers flying in your face LOL

cool idea but i like the numbers of my digital UEGO. I hope AEM fixed the melting problems they had. Mu buddy had his UEGO in a pillar pod his melted so bad it randomly switches modes. mine i had in a autometer metal holder on my dash. i had to take a knife to the plastic so i could disconnect it, and the screw on cover had to be glued on because it warped so bad.
