I replaced my broken/worn out engine and trans mounts with oily and its horrible! It's like the dash is about to shake out of the car! Is there something in between the two? The stock were broken and the poly is ridiculous. I would be ashamed for someone to ride with me.

Itll only be rough at idle. There is no in-between. There is stock, poly and solid mounts.

I love mine. Keep driving it. The vibrations/shaking will be less with the use. You only need to break them in.

Either way, the less people that ride in my car the better ;)

I recommend you check the torque on those bolts holding the mounts down to the motor/trans, as well as the bolts/nuts that hold it to the chassis. I've got solid poly mounts all around and the shake in the cabin is minimal, however, that's a subjective opinion.

Again, check torque because to me it sounds like you didn't tighten something down.

Balance shafts have a lot to do with vibration. No shafts and poly mounts are bearable. With shafts is decent. No shafts and solid = race car.

My car is sans shafts. When I ride in my friends car with shafts I almost want to put mine back in. Its night and day difference. His engine feels like a singer sewing machine.

Guess it's the kind of thing you either love or hate.

I had poly mounts in my Lotus, and the engine was about 5 inches from my back.
Felt a little like an earthquake at idle... loved it.

Talon's got poly mounts as well now, no Balance Shaft, but I've yet to get it back on it's wheels since the installation of those.

I had this so i just swapped out the trans poly mount to an oem and its much better, next on my list is the front and rear ally solid mounts

Yes there is something in between old worn out mounts and poly mounts, it's called 'New OEM mounts'. I'm not trying to be a dik, new oem mounts really are nice. Vibration that rattle the car suks, sometimes you get used to it but it's still there. My Talon has poly mounts on the trans and front mount with new oem mounts on the engine side and rear. It's a good compromise between comfort/smoothness and keeping the engine stable.

With that said, raising the idle speed will help smooth out the idle, lowering the ignition timing at idle by a couple degrees will also help a little.

I would imagine poly inserts wouldn't vibrate as much.

I have inserts on mine and raised idle to 850 and idle is smooth as can be. But I also still have balance shafts.
