from my experience with the prothane I wouldnt recommend it for daily driven BUT i raised my idil to 1k with ecmlink and the viberation smoothed out...

jjrock5 let me know how the inserts in just the front and back turns out :thumb:

Interesting thread -I always wondered how much extra vibration I was getting from the Prothane bushing on the driver's side... I noticed that it fits super tight in the subframe mount.

Awesome job Calan :thumb: I might just try milling both of it's surfaces down a tad myself.

Just another random thought on the subject; Has anyone experimented with an engine dampener, after going to Poly bushings?

From the experience I've had with them, I will NEVER get polyurethane. Maybe the 2 cars I've been in with them were freak cars, but the vibrations at idle were just plain stupid, unless you are performance-oriented only. With the added vibrations comes extra squeaks and rattles, think about that too.

Polyurethane for AWD cars doesn't make too much sense to me anyways. I dunno, thats my .02 cents.

When i bought mine i had money tied up in other places i got my inserts, and i love them idle is good, at 900 rpms and a bit over, but like the op said ill be running dsmlink too to help with that. I wasnt sure about them but after in installed them it rode great, even on long trips.

Go oem for comfort, like you said, no launching etc. so why bother going stiff.

Food for thought though.

Polys are typically 60-70a hardness.
There is a DIY on here about poly urethane mix.
I did this and got the 90a hardness, along with the the rear welded motor mount DIY on here as well.

The car launches hard, shakes real good and gives you a nice back massage. Rear hatch struts had to be removed because they refused to be quiet. 1k RPM smoothed things out decently. Steering wheel shakes below 1k. 3k crusing you can really feel the eliminated balance shafts.
I don't mind the race car feel, it's my DD/winter car but I'm still alright with it - however I wouldn't do it again unless I was making the car purpose built.

I went with prothanes and wasnt too happy. First off, My car is a 90 Galnt GS. Like someone said earlier, they are hit or miss. After installing the front, rear and left side my car rattled like crazy, I was annoyed by all the buzzing panels. I ended up swapping the rear one back to stock and Im am happy with that combo. So Im half/Half. Trans and rear are stock. You wont know if you like it till you do it for yourself.
