Im starting to have problems with my engine mounts and I want to go ahead and just upgrade then while im at it, I came across a polyeurothane mount insert kit and wanted to know if they would be a good choice, if they are I would also like to know how to properly install them.

Installation is pretty straight forward. They're two piece, one goes in each side with the metal bushing in the center and a little white lithium for lubricant.

I think it's the best bang for the buck. You can go back to OEM or aftermarket solid but they are much more expensive then the inserts. If you get the kit with the transmission mounts you don't have to press the old bushings out, it just goes over the old bushings. That's the hardest part IMO is getting the old bushings out.

So, this is a very common “repair-mod” that people have been doing for at least 20 years

Here’s an old post about how someone did their DSM

Here’s a video that’s not mount or dsm specific but it’s the same process and Zach is easy to follow. Work starts around the 6:00 mark.

Lastly, I’d recommend checking out the vendors at the bottom of this page, there are several that sell these and they need our support to keep parts available for these cars we all love so much.

Agreed on above. Unless you have knowledge of urethane durometer to know what to buy for pouring your own and the time to do it. You will be fine with the prothanes, just atleast do all 4 mounts for best effect.
