Well allen and I will be in jackson this weekend if you wanna stop by and have us check it out.. I have had alot of problems with my clutch so im pretty good at diagnosing..

hey paul can you change the main title of this thread.. He is no longer affiliated with the graveyard LOL.. I know you know the issue.

Ya paul you can get the whole hub and axle as one peice. I just dropped the upper wishbone from the body of the car and disconnected the lateral control arm if you would call it that and had me pulling the wishbone out and allen pulled the hub out from the back and slide it out to the side.. It wasn't too bad but it does take some strength to move the suspension out of the way.. Then his grandpa just broke the hub down and then popped the axle out that way.. Worked out well..

You can see in the first pic we left the two ball joints connected and just undid the solid control arm that runs to the front of the wheel well and that gives it the movement towards the rear.. So you pull the suspension back and out and then the axle and hub forward..
I already have the whole knuckle (4 of them actually) removed from the car. I just need to get the hubs and axles out so I can put new hubs in the spindles. Thanks for the info, John. I'll give it a shot when I'm out in the garage tomorrow night.

No problem. :thumb:

it needs a new one, as soon as it boosts it slips, would love to make some new friends that would help me do the install though. going to school for an auto tech is so awesome with these cars LOL:thumb:

Thanks man..

I have my old axle that we are going to seperate from the hub and I am going to try to figure out how he did it in person.. It would save people alot of money.

MORE PICS

these are of what the inside of the axle looks like that is inside the boot/cup closes to the hub. there is a lot of bearings that we just cut out but after doing it to the first axle we found a better way. if you look at the pics of the axle there is a snap ring. so if you just undo the boot just beat on the cup and the axle will pop out then the hub will be a little easier to work with. we used a press to get the rest of the axle out of the hub.

SPart69x what is your name? how long have you had your car i might know you.

pictures

Interesting pictures. I didn't think you could remove any of the bubs with the axle still connected... I know I've tried it in the fronts and it doesn't work, but it looks like you guys make it happen on the rears. So does the outside axle cup pass through the spindle hole? If so, I assume you just removed the inside axle cut and pulled it all through the spindle? Let me know because if that's how it works, it's going to save me a hell of a lot of time and trouble messing with a torch.

Also, thanks for sharing the link for the Import Face Off event. I'm going to try to make it over there for that. Looks like my 2G would fit into the Forced Induction Sport class, so I just might have to bring it along. I'm curious though, why are your guys running in the Pro class, rather than the Sport class?

No problem Paul. We are getting there two hours before the event to set up our vendor area. and beat the rush:thumb: you are more then welcome to come with our group if you want and bring whoever else you want... just an idea :D

well let me or john know if you need help we are back and forth between jackson and kalamazoo with Strictly Import Motorsports and stuff so it wont hurt to check your car out.

see what i can do, i have the clutch already. mainly would need some help doing it, ### i don't have 400 to have a shop do it LOL.

I actually will be in touch, i need some ideas of how to trim the stock fan to get the fmic to fit better til i get the slim fan.

Well all we ask is supply the Drinks :D and we might be able to lend a hand. its getting nice out so sounds like a fun night.

thats not a problem LOL, i have all the tools at the house for the most part too. air comp, jacks, may need better stands though LOL. taller rather, i'll pm ya and see whats going on, check the car out and go far there :D

I am runing the SBC street disk and the act 2600 pressure plate and the streetlight fly wheel. And Strictly Import Motorsports jsut got an Account with them so Great pricing :thumb:

I am Also adding a new event that the car will be attending April 24th at US-131 Motorsports park MI for the High school nationals that is open to college students :hellyeah:

I made the same choice, cheaper, and the SBC PP is more like 2500 than 2600 and it also comes with a better disc.

good info man thanks. if my act 2600 ever dies ill have to check this clutch out.. but ill most likely end up with a quarter master set up..

so Allen do you think start up is possible this weeknd?

I will have my clutch in so I can mate the motor to the tranny. Link is a week out but i should be able to start it up ill just use some 450cc on start up It should be fine. But if not this weekend for sure the next.

I got V3 today :D
and my new South bend Disk :rocks:

and some more pics of the head. I will have a lot more pics tonight putting the motor in :thumb:

so nothing went my way today.. come to find out my ARP's got stolen along with the oil pan. So i moved on to the rear end and one of my hubs were striped out. then I moved on to a simple thermostat housing and believe it I stripped out the dam bolts LOL.... So I gave up and hoping tomorrow will go a little smoother.

So after a very frustrating day saturday i managed to actually pull it together and get a lot done sunday. I have the rear end back in and the subframe bolted back up with my new SIM axles in just waiting on my new bearings to get in tuesday. Also got a new oil pan and ARP head studs. I will be working on the car again friday to drop the motor in. saturday finish the cage and the interior and start driving it. and sunday will be drive drive drive. and hope fully not to many problems. :thumb: .... here are some more pics for you all.

I think Austin from dsm graveyard will sell you his wh1c holset . call them up . If not go to ebay and type in holset turbo , find a blown one which will be cheap and send it to a turbo rebuilder either from dsmtuners or a actual shop . total investment will be less than 400 bucks for a fresh holset
hey i do have a Holset i will sell but im not Austin from dsm graveyard any more....now im all Strictly import motorsports.....pm me and ill get you some info i love allens car im doing a wire tuck next weekend...woot!!!!
:hellyeah:

now that my clutch is done i am going to have to check this thing out running, shame someone jacked your stuff though.
