I think I'm gonna go with this turbo then, Thats my exact fuel system and I don't want to worry about havin to tune quite yet.

You weren't getting any knock retard?

nope i ran it for 2 years and street raced alot and went to the strip about 3 times..

I want to build a 2.3 awd stroker with eagle shaft and rods wiseco pistons 8.8:1. I want to try and build the car using the 14b at first but what is the maximum boost level that turbo can take or does that depend on how cold the air charge is?

It's not how much boost it can take but how much boost it can make efficiently. With a motor like that you could go a lot bigger. I'm assuming you have other supporting mods? You would be better off getting a used Evo 16G or something like that. The 14b will not be too efficient past 18psi. Even at that boost you are making alot of hot air. good luck man....wish I had a stroker motor :)

No one can tell you, each car/setup is different. Grab a logger and check your injector duty cycles and timing curve for any signs of knock.

16 psi is the general consciouses before the stock fuel system is overrun on a stock car, but there are still many other factors involved.

There are simply too many variables for any of us to tell you that. My suggestion is to leave it at stock boost for now. Once you get some maintenance and stuff taken care of (like replacing silicon hose, getting a logger, etc.), you can start upping the boost slowly. Make sure to do it 1 or 2 psi at a time and watch knock and IDC's extremely carefully.

I personally would run 14psi until you can upgrade injectors and everything. But I have seen people run 16psi with a 190 and 450's.

i replaced the hose with much stronger tubing. then i turned my controller a couple spins. hit and held 17 psi and cut and back fired. so i know thats too much i think ill set it at 14-15 like u said. it will hold 14 steady WOT and pull hard without any surge.

Ive been at 20psi for awhile and it seems to be doing just fine, no smoking or anything.

2g Go Faster Pages
they have the bcs mod there under "how to"

u dont need to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors with the stock turbo..and 14-15psi is the max boost u can run with the t25

Thats why i can run 22 psi if i give er. All stock.. I only have 3'' cat back exhaust, hard intercooler pipe Greddy typs s bov.

My 91 awd has a 2.5 inch exhaust k an n filter new uper intercooler piping and the bcs removed and all the other free mods. Im hitting about 13 psi when i punch it in third on the stock gauge. Is this normal? Is the stock gauge only guessing what psi is or is it accurate up to 14 psi?

gsx91 if we were in the same room id smack you. the stock boost gauge is a joke it doesnt tell what the real boost level is for all you know you could be running 20psi the very frist thing you should do is get a boost gauge if you plan on moding the car at all. running to much boost and not knowing it is a good way to lean the car out and kill the motor

It doesnt have an mbc hooked to it so it shouldnt be pushing over maybe 15 psi. It definently isnt 20 psi it doesnt feel all that faster than my old 5.0. Both an mbc and boost gauge will be coming soon. I was just looking for a rough guestimate because the free mods have so many different effects for different cars. The mods came with the car, I dunno why the previous owner didnt go with a boost gauge first... No need to get the flame suite on so quick, I was just wondering exactly how big a joke the stock gauge actually is.

I actually have the mbc bolted to the car frame its just not hooked up because there is no boost gauge. How well do the cheap ebay ones work? Or what type would you recommend?

i wouldnt recommend turning the boost up unless you have some sort of datalogger to let you know whats going on with your timing/knock etc. I've seen some ebay mbc's that are pretty decent and others that are horrible. I use a ball and spring type ebay mbc and i don't have any complaints yet. My old dsm i used a bleeder type mbc and i would never go that route again.

So i have a big 16g with stock injectors. I do not have any tuning software. I was wondering what would be a good psi to run at that would be a little more than stock on the 14b or low enough to keep me from fuel cut. The turbo is running straight open atm. It was like that when i purchased the car. About a week an a half ago. Ive been hitting fuel cut around 35mph in 3rd gear going up hills =(. Does have a bigger TB on it for some reason. No idea. Throw some idea's my way. Let me know what i should do. I may end up just putting the car back to stock and doing some parting out.

WOW, you should post a pic of the engine bay, where is your maf sensor located since your running the turbo open. You could have a huge issue here and should not be driving it if its missing the maf.

LOL sorry, I guess when you said no tuning I thought you really meant no tuning. Make sure the maft is setup for the right size maf and 450 injectors.

Ohh and safe boost would be around 12psi, you need to get a logger. Also that turbo wont last long without a filter.
