Been trying to figure this little issue I have and was just wanting to know where another place to look in fixing it would be.

Problem: It seems every 4 days to a week I have to refill the water in the car,the amount of water will vary I guess depending on how I drive the car for the week. I thought I found the problem when i noticed a little stream of water coming out of a freeze plug. After replacing this a few days later I noticed water leaking out of the water pipe so I got a new one. Still the issue remains.
Car has a fairly new radiator cap, thermostat (is working fine) no water coming out of overflow hose,no leaks from the water pump coolant is circulating like normal,Car doesn't run hot temp stays in the middle or a bit to the left,Never see any water on the ground in the morning, oil looks normal. Any other areas i maybe overlooking? I haven't done a pressure test yet just no time recently but i would think while looking in the engine bay after have driven the car awhile and not seeing any leaks I don't think a pressure test would be much help.

Have you noticed any white smoke out your tailpipe? Especially upon acceleration? Does your oil look milky like coolant has made its way in there? If so, could be a head gasket.

Go ahead and do the pressure test. Better safe than sorry. There are a lot of hot parts under the hood and when water squirts out and say, hits the exhaust manifold, it's turning into vapor real quick and you'll never notice it. +1 on the above post. I hate throwing this out there so early, but if the pressure test comes back fine...you might want to look at getting a hydrocarbon test done on the coolant to see if any exhaust is in your coolant. I have had that issue where the head gasket was blown along the lines of the water jacket, so pressure from the cylinders would put pressure on the coolant system, pushing coolant out and me refilling every few days. Hope that helps out a little bit. Let us know the results of the pressure test!:hellyeah:

Thanks for the suggestions, when i get time i will do a pressure test.
turbodude: no white smoke under acceleration, oil looks good as well
Where would one get a hydrocarbon test done at?

pressure test it cold. If the radiator has a leak along the tanks, it will basically seal itself when the rad. gets warm. Don't forget to check the weap hole on the water pump. Same situation there, the coolant will evaporate once the engine comes up to temp.

one more thing to check is your coolant lines going to and from your turbo.

Check the rest of the core/frost/freeze plugs, if one was bad and leaking, chances are the others are in sad shape
