Hello,

I have a brand new FP green installed and I went to start the car up for the first time and noticed the coolant line on the front of the turbo is leaking. I’ve tried multiple crush washers and added permeated thread sealant to it but I can’t get rid of the leak. It doesn’t help that the bolt is impossible to get a socket on because of the wastegate bracket so I’m stuck with using a wrench to do a quarter turn here and there.

Turbo was originally bolted on when I had the motor out of the car so I was able to tighten it well. Any tips ?

Best thing I can suggest is making sure all 4 surfaces all smooth and free of defects. The turbo center section, the bottom of the banjo bolt and both sides of the line.

I would unbolt the wastegate if possible to work on the area to ensure a good clean install. I personally don’t run water lines on my turbo for this reason because it sometimes is harder to get to once bolted in the car.

You may have to get FP involved if the suggestions don't help.

Probably not tight enough. Remove the actuator bracket, or try to modify a socket or crows foot or something. Thread sealant isn't gonna do anything as it doesn't seal at the threads. Same goes for AN fittings - never understood people use teflon tape on the threads. When in doubt, ditch the coolant lines. Journal bearing turbos don't need them.
