So I've had an issue of blowing head gaskets out whenever I get above 40 psi. I currently have L19 head studs and an o-ringed block. I've tried pretty much every head gasket that I can think of at this point. I came across this video:

and it seems like an interesting idea. Has anyone ever seen anything like this done? I currently am running a 2.0L long rod - I have to admit I also like the idea of running a 162mm rod or a 94mm crank and sticking with the 156mm rods.

Double head gaskets and a 12mm deckplate, interesting. But making 700tq by 4000rpm at 45psi on this platform seems even more insane, wow.

700 ft/lbs of torque. I hope it has a Dogbox.

That might be the issue 🤔 40 lbs of boost is a lot !! You got to think about that, you're sitting on 4 little cast iron bombs, the motor can only handle so much before it needs to vent.

Deck the block and surface the head to an RA50 or BETTER (mirror). I run 40lbs with Cometic and HKS HG's. Both hold fine.

This is an old'ish thread. Personally, I have never had issues running over 40psi in a DSM. Been doing it since the early 2000s. In my old Galant, I ran it briefly in the 50-54psi range on some cool nights and it held like a champ. The setup? OEM MLS head gasket (EVO III) and an o-ringed head (steel.) This is something the Buschur camp had been doing for awhile and when I had him working on my head, was recommended by @Darren Thomas Racing.

Pm'd 🙂

And I am getting by with E85 10:1's. I agree.
Its the "little things". 😎
