I am trying to install a LOC, I have had aftermarket stereos in it... and I am just afraid of somebody taking a knife to my soft top just to steal a stupid headunit, because it looks fancy. So I put my old HU back in. But I still have my Speaker amp and my sub with its amp. I installed the LOC using an article somewhere around here with a color code. I installed it correctly. Absolutely positive. But I get no sound. Do I need the factory amp plugged in to make this damn thing work? Thats the only thing I have missing from the equation. I have the 8 wires (4 speakers) connected where they should be. Then the RCAs from the output of the module back to the amps. What am I missing here??

Are you using the stock amp or aftermarket amp and are the amps fed with RCA cables or line level input? The LOC should feed off of the speakers, left and right. Run the RCA cables back to the amp then from the amp to the speakers. Very easy. I think my LOC's had to have 12v power and a ground to them also, is yours that way? Need just a little more info.

I got it figured out. I had to install the factory amp to feed signal to the LOC. The stock headunit does not give out ANY power even though the wire harness can feed the speakers. I have the LOC coming directly off the stock amp harness under the passenger seat. Then the 4-channel LOC feeds two RCA patch cables that run back to my aftermarket speaker and subwoofer amps. I am only doing this as a temporary solution until I can get a nice headunit. Thanks for the help
