Fresh rebuild no crank

I have a 95 eclipse gs rebuilt the whole motor everything is new besides the starter and the coil pack which was recently replaced before rebuild, before rebuild it cranked just fine, I'm wondering if maybe I messed up the starter ground? I her an odd ticking noise under the dash when I try to start it and yes I've been holding the clutch down. The starter is case ground also right?

Check your ecu it could be bad if its clicking.

Hows your wiring? Did you perform any sort of "wire tuck" in the process of the rebuild?

Check the wires off the harness to your starter, check the grounds and of course make sure your battery didnt deplete while it was off the car (just measure between the posts)

Trickle chargers are always a good idea when having the battery off for an extended time.

The clicking says to me its either got no juice to turn the starter motor, a bad starter relay or a toast ECU like iugrad mentioned

Also if u cross the terminal on the right to the one on the bottom it does a slow crank and if u cross te one on the right to the one on the left then it spins the starter but it doesn't hit the flywheel, is it possible the wire are in the wrong place? A friend of mine said that

The wiring wasn't messed with at all, and the stater solenoid might have been broke eclipse it wiggles a little, how would u go about testing g the ignition system for

We've got a 2g GSX down here which has similar symptoms, and from what we've been able to ascertain the issue on that vehicle is an intermittent connection in the ignition switch (it's the only part in the starting system/circuitry we haven't yet replaced).

Sounds like you may have a dead battery. The clicking from under the dash could be the starter solenoid kicking the gear out, and when you cross the terminals its just turning the motor on the starter and not kicking the gear out.

I would say dead battery or a loose battery terminal.
