Got to work on the gauge panel I need for everything I plan to run. Unfortunately I won't have all the gauges and such for a good while, but non the less, I have the panel to work with.

Ah crap. It's probably because I changed my photobucket. I'll fix it.

edit: All the picture are showing up through my phone, and on my laptop. If there is a problem, I can't see it.

Wtf. I'll have to try it on another computer. They show up for me. But I did rearrange pics in my photo bucket so that's probably what it is. I'll fix it as soon as I can.

Edit: do the pictures work now? They all show up for me, I assume at least most of them are back.

Pictures are working great for me! Awesome project I love these classic Celicas.

Still only see about half the pictures but I am on my phone. I will check this thread out on my computer later on today. The build looks great though! Keep us updated as often as possible!

I'll double check the pictures when I get home from school late tonight. But thank you! I'm really happy with it so far. I still have an extremely long way to go but I'm trying to do it right.

The pic's aren't showing up for me no more either. I find uploading them directly to tuners the best way. Definitely glad you aren't putting an LS motor in the Celica it'd ruin everything about it IMO, if anything it should stay Toyota with a jz or the even better then LS series motor the 1UZ. Japanese cars should stay Japanese because that's why there great! Love the hockey puck idea, smart thinking man, I forget if you said or not but are you using the DSM harness, or making a hybrid?

Stupid pictures. I swear to God I had them all working again. I'll have to look into it. And I like the idea of a jz. But they have actually been done a lot and are very pricey. I have seen 2 4g cars. Only one ran. And I will be using the Dsm harness. Either 1g or 2g. I don't care which one. Depends on price. That's for the engine. Everything else car wise I will be putting together myself. That will be a very long process as I have some wild ideas of things I want to do.

Hey this is awesome! I wish you luck on the build. Wish I could see the pictures LOL

Nothing really unfortunately. I haven't had any income lately that I can put into the car. I am waiting for some more money so I can splurge LOL.

Finally got a little bit of money to blow on the car. I ordered a bunch of parts last night, timing kit, thermostat relocate, boost gauge (I ordered that so I can finish my gauge panel) and a turbo. Nothing fancy with any of this. I'm trying to get the car running. No point to spend thousands of dollars yet.

I need to finish up the motor mount bracing and then the trans mount and that will all be done.

I mainly just need engine essentials. Starter, alternator, injectors, clutch kit etc. I have an intercooler I can use for the time being. I'm shooting to drive the thing before I graduate, which is March 22nd. But, we'll see how things go.

Well I've been able to order a ton of parts lately so I should be able to get a ton of stuff done over this thanksgiving break. I'll be picking up more parts tomorrow too.

It isn't enough to get it driving. But it's a big step in that direction!

Excellent. Looking forward to your updates next week!:hellyeah:

I'm getting pretty excited. All this time from not being able to do much with the car has given me loads of time to think and plan. I have a ton of ideas that I think will really set this car apart.

Here is a parts list of what I have recently purchased.

780cc injectors
Timing kit
Thermostat relocate kit
Stock turbo
Boost gauge
EPROM ECU
Alternator
Starter
Pressure plate
Timing cover

I'll mostly be cleaning and working on Mach up with all of this. I still need to make a trans mount and reinforce the crossmember. Once that's done I'll start assembly for "good".

UPDATE:

All the parts I ordered and a semi Mach up. I of course I'm running into issues. :/

But nonetheless.

Thermostat relocate from Jay Racing. (Side note. Every time I order something I ask them to "ship with love". ECM tuning and jay racing are the only ones who have actually done this haha)

Baby little turbo haha. I only got this cause it was cheap and will allow me to drive the car.

And the first problem I ran into. I have to remove the core plug from the head for the thermostat relocation. And this happened upon "removal"

I should have the transmission mount tigged up within the next week or so. Then I need to finish the crossmember brace. After that, it should be smooth sailing to get to driving. Hopefully.

For that freeze plug you should NEVER hit it on the dome, always hit it on the edges. Some times it might take a little bit of force as I found out when I was cleaning out me EGR system on my supra.

I ran out and removed one so I could take pics of the process for you.

Took 2 decent hits before it finally bugged
IMG_20121124_192451.jpg

Keep hitting it in roughly the same spot and when it starts to spin like so your golden.
IMG_20121124_192513.jpg

just simply gently pry it out and don't be forceful

Hope this helps a little, also since aluminum and steal react chemically corrosion could be making it harder to get it out. Try using a small propane torch and heating the area around the plug, should help a lot. Tomorrow I'll go try and remove the same plug on one of my spare heads so I can see how much harder it is then removing a block one.

Thanks man. Yeah I had smacked it several times right on the edge. She didn't move at all. I would have used a torch right off the bat. But I don't have a torch LOL.

I'll eventually get it out. It isn't terribly necessary at the moment. Not until I'm ready to fill the thing up with coolant

Those freeze plugs can be pesky at times. Project is looking great so far.

Yeah this one is proving to be a pain. I'll eventually get it out. I may not be pretty, but whatever LOL.

I'm happy with progress. I do however need a radiator *cough cough* :p LOL
