1G Fan blower resistor? Need to be grounded?

hello everyone . i had to relocate this resistor afew inches for my turbo could fit it was touching the compressor housing.
,does it need to be body grounded(with its 10mm bolt?) i have it cable tied to the other fan

Just use the factory connector and lengthen it should work.

No, it does not need to be grounded.

However, the mounting for the resistor will act as a heat sink, pulling heat away from the resistors, which (in theory) ought to help improve the resistor’s longevity.
