2G need help please with heater blower

Ok my 30amp fuse blew the other day and when I went to take.it out the fuse was.melted in the fuse box.....I got most of the fuse out but the socket it fits in is melted and broken....so I need to know the wire that go to that socket, how to take apart fuse box, or or any help? Thanks everyone....I HAVE NO HeaT!!

Sounds like a short. Check the wiring to and from the fuse thats melted. I bet its a short. Let us know what you find! Good luck friend!

I would also check for any burnt wires cause it sound like the wiring got hot. Just to be safe thats what I would do. But to pull the fusebox apart you should be able to remove it and depin it so you could replace it. I don't know for sure on this because I'm still kinda new to the dsm world but I'm not new to the wiring part. Just my two pennies

That's my main question was how to get the fuse box off....I took off bolt, and bottom plugs, but top of has wires going into that aren't plugged.

The other thing, is that my Chilton manual says the wire to that fuse is 5 W -B .....im guessing that is white w/ blue stripe? Correct? Not sure what 5 means.

Your blower motor was shorting out internally. That causes a draw on the weakest part of the circuits (the connectors). Check your blower motor connector and resistor connectors as well for any melting. You can cut and splice an in-line fuse around that box until it gets warmer and can repair it properly. 5 W/B means White/Black. Never seen a White wire with a Blue stripe b4, but, you can use a test light to tell you which wire going in and out of that circuit.

Ok thanks there is.about 4 different plugs around the box. Some with bigger gauge, and some with smaller 24-28 gauge.....they both have white / blk wires. Should I use the fan switch to test when they ate getting current?

Yes, If you look at the back of the fan switch one of those wires will be your power wire from the fuse box to the switch. When the switch is "On" you should have power down to the blower motor from the switch.
